I’m a Sheffield-based artist. My work blends classical, abstract and pop art influences to bring intricate forms, shadows, and details to life. Working primarily in acrylics, I mostly draw inspiration from my passion for people and the outdoors, channelling the energy and details in the natural form and landscapes into each piece. My art typically captures a form in a monochromatic style, with acc

ents of bold colour, creating a dynamic tension that highlights the essential details and emotional core of my subject. In addition to my acrylic work, I enjoy exploring these themes through expressive sketches in pencil and charcoal. Contact me if you are interested in purchasing any of my original pieces or if you would like to discuss a commission. I am also able or arrange to have any of my work replicated for print to ensure that as many people as possible are able to access inspiring art!

What would you add? ✍ Did you notice that none of these reasons are about being in any way 'good' at sketching (yes, I hear that voice in your head too! 😜)?

Join me on the trails soon for a Hike and Sketch session and you can experience the benefits for yourself!

No need to be pro, just a love for hiking, great chat, doodling and using your hands will do.

These events are very beginner friendly - in both the hiking and sketching elements, so don't worry if you're not feeling confident with your sketching or you want to learn - I'll be on hand to support you if you need it.

Still wondering if my 'Hike and Sketch' events are for you?

Well, put it this way....they are for everyone!

Why do we sketch outdoors?

✍ it helps us to slow down
✍ we notice more
✍ being outdoors helps us feel better
✍ it brings us out of our heads and into the present moment
✍ we stretch ourselves a little bit
✍ there's great chat!

All my hikes and outdoor experiences are good for the soul.
Some are simply about getting outside with like minded souls.
And some are planned with extra special ingredients.

There are a series of 'Hike and Sketch' events starting to flow into my Eventbrite page for the warmer months...check them out!

Ways to get Axe Edge Moor Trig into your life 😍

This first photo is my original inspo pic for the painting - which is a 20cm x 20cm acrylic painting on canvas board. It wasn't about being realistic, but showing the features that made this Trig setting identifiable.

You can still get the original from me if you like (drop me DM), otherwise its available other ways, and already out there on coasters, bookmarks, greetings cards, ceramic ornaments and prints all over the UK!

All available in my Esty Store! (link in bio)

Have you bagged this one?

This week I took a fabulous group out for a 'hike and sketch' session.

My heart is full.

We walked the gorgeous Burbage valley and stopped along the way for some sketching time.

🌿 As an outdoor leader, I love helping people connect with nature, to notice things we might not normally notice, and for me to share knowledge about our context that many might not know yet, despite being familiar with the route in some cases!

🎨 As an artist, it's a joy to bring others into a space where they can experiment, express themselves and to dive into the detail of what we study before putting pencil to paper and bringing it to life with our own flavours and interpretation. There is no right or wrong way to do it too.

πŸ’‘And as a coach, it's a joy to bring someone out of 'i can't' or 'im rubbish' and into 'im giving this a go, and I love that I'm here, regardless of what ends up in my sketch pad'. The mindset factor is so important for trying new things and practicing new ways of thinking or even talking about yourself!

In these spaces I encourage mindfulness, positive self talk and being kind to ourselves. We get to turn the page and start again if we need. Or simply sit and absorb the surroundings, etching them into our imaginations instead for another day.

You see, we might hike, we might sketch, but what we often need most is connection and space to just be.

To be present.

I hold that space for you.

🫴

I'm starting to shape the picture for my next hike and sketch event, let me know if you want to join us next time and where you fancy heading!

Stay kind 🫢
