I made another Ava Jacket! This time for the Tribe Mash KAL - so it’s “mashed” with the gorgeous Fiskerhuse pattern by Annette Rindom Danielsen . I’ve decided no sleeves for now, but that may change later in the year.

Love how it turned out! I especially love it worn on top of my original Ava Jacket (pattern by Louise Rasmussen ).

I used Alpaca 3 by Isageryarn , just like in our Fiskerhuse kits. And then a finishing welt in Chunky by KAOS YARN .

GIACOMO by Illimani 🩷
Yes, it’s expensive, but with cashmere you get what you pay for.

Most cashmere yarns are woolen spun. Giacomo is made from combed baby cashmere. This is why it’s so silky.

Also,
• Long, ultra-fine fibres (12.5–14 microns!)
• Fibres are combed and aligned = silky handle
• NO prickliness, no dryness, no fuzziness
• Softness that comes from fibre quality NOT fluff
• Smooth, buttery, luxurious feel
• Softness that stays even after knitting and wearing
• More durable than other cashmere, and no pilling
Made from 10 tiny strands of pure cashmere twisted together, Giacomo is smooth and fluid, but still airy and light.

Almost every other cashmere yarn you’ll see is woolen cashmere:
- Fibers are short and mixed in all directions
- Spinning traps air, creating a fluffy, fuzzy yarn
- Soft, but pills easily
- Less durable and less defined stitch structure
- Cheaper to produce

Worsted spinning is slower, more expensive, and requires extremely fine, long fibers - which is why almost no mills offer it. GIACOMO is in a different category. Definitely not a mass‑market cashmere!

Save this post for when you’re ready to really treat yourself. 🥰

It’s a thing! Stainless steel… in knitting.

Tetsu is a fine lace-weight thread made from silk and stainless steel, where a very thin metal filament is twisted together with mulberry silk.

Some patterns use it to create architectural shapes. Others use it to help collars stand proud, add memory to fabric, a subtle shine, or simply bring a unique crispness that no other yarn can quite replicate.

I’ve rounded up some of our favourite patterns for Tetsu - you’ll find a link to the patterns on our Tetsu webpage. I’ve knit the Stella & Cake with steel yarn, and we have kits for the Plain Knit Top using ITO Tetsu + Sensai.

Have you knitted with Tetsu yet? Which pattern is your fav?

𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞.

Not exactly the most exciting word in the world…but here’s how Pitti Filati interpreted it for Autumn/Winter 2027/28.

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫’𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐞…

Explored through three equestrian disciplines, each representing a different expression of discipline:

🐎 Dressage : Precision, elegance and complete presence. Refined tailoring, beautifully restrained colour palettes, braided textures and impeccable craftsmanship.

🤠 Reining : Calm, confidence and inner control. Think Americana, denim, suede, quilting, patchwork and earthy, tactile textures that celebrate authenticity over perfection.

🏇 Obstacle (Show Jumping) : Energy, resilience and embracing challenge. Technical fibres, bold colour blocking, sporty influences and knitwear designed to perform.

Not just styling cues. They’re reflections of where fashion believes we’re heading.

After years of “more, faster, louder”, the pendulum seems to be swinging back towards intention. Buying less, making better, valuing craftsmanship and creating pieces that are designed to last.

Halle-blinkin-lujah!!

We already know this. Every stitch is an investment of our time. Every project is a reminder that the best things can’t be rushed.

Which of the three speaks to you most: Dressage, Reining or Obstacle?
Got a fav image from this reel?

2. AVA JACKET by .Knitwear (We have kits!)
3. ALMA SWEATER by Tine Rousing ()
4. BLOUSE 3 by Tine Rousing () - again I way prefer the colorful version (surprise surprise)

More vids on the way. What do you think of this lot?

Did you know there are a possible 1,300 unique combos of Ito Kinu and Shimo?? Unfortunately (or fortunately 😬) we don’t have every single one swatched out, but there are images of 29 combos on our website. Plenty to go on, so you can imagine the rest..

Swatch page is linked on the Kinu and Shimo pages ( or go here: tribeyarns.com/pages/ito-shimo-kinu-swatches).

If you’re like me and cannot wear white coz you live a mucky life, or can’t fathom days of endless white stocking stitch), then go rogue and pick something that resonates with you, and the colours you wanna hang out with.

The combo of Kinu & Shimo is outrageously good. Can totally see why Anne picked it! And the design is pure Anne Ventzel shaping in all its glory, and that lovely dipping hem. It’s very very good!

Tell me your thoughts on your Kinu-Shimo combo? I love being inspired by you.

IG LIVE! ✨
This Wednesday at 1pm (UK time), I’m going LIVE with lovely Zoë of Ériu Yarns!

I totally fell in love with her, her yarns and the mission behind the yarns when I met her in March.

We’ve recently added stunning Ériu Elements yarn to our shelves, and I’d love to share with you why we love it so much.

Ériu is helping to restore value to Irish wool through a fully traceable farm-to-yarn network across Ireland - working directly with small family farms, spinning locally, and proving that heritage wool can be both deeply luxurious and deeply meaningful.

Elements is a beautifully balanced DK spun from Bluefaced Leicester and Romney wool.

We’ll be chatting about:
🍀 the story behind Ériu
🍀 Irish wool & provenance
🍀 the inspiration behind the Elements palettes
🍀 building a yarn company with actual values
🍀 what makes this yarn so special to knit with
🍀 and other stuff, I’m sure 🤪

Wednesday • 1pm UK time • here on Tribe Insta

Please join and ask your questions, and have a virtual squish of this amazing Irish wool 🤍
