🎃 TRADER SPOTLIGHT 🎃

Less than 48 hours to go until our Halloween Oddities and we are so excited! One of our final trader spotlights goes to the lovely Sally from Velvet Anchor Vintage; a stall that I can tell is going to be very popular with all you spooky lovers this weekend!

Something wicked this way comes…Velvet Anchor Vintage, where vintage treasures, pre-loved pieces and theatrical and cabaret costumes come together!
Run by Sal, who has worked in theatre for over 20 years (and has the props and costumes hoard to prove it!), Velvet Anchor Vintage is part vintage emporium, part costume cupboard and part treasure hunt. So come and have a rummage among the velvet, lace, sequins and sparkles! Everything from gorgeous gowns from the 80's to butterfly wings, skeleton costumes to wonderful wigs, second hand and pre-loved treasures and so much more.

🎃 TRADER SPOTLIGHT 🎃

We are down to our final few trader spotlights of this month, with only a couple of days to go until the market!!

This one goes to Sadie, the face behind Sadie Cook Art and another brand new addition to Oddities! We love her designs, and we think you will too!

“As someone with aphantasia (no mind’s eye), I’ve always found it tricky to know what style and medium suited me. For a long time, I felt like if I couldn’t picture something in my head or create something realistic, I wasn’t really “good” at art.

Over the last year, I’ve discovered that abstract line art is much more my thing! It lets me draw intuitively and just see where the lines take me, without putting too much pressure on myself. Sometimes it’s neat, sometimes it’s completely chaotic, but it feels like me.

I mainly work with black fine liners on white paper, creating flowing lines, patterns and abstract designs. I’ve also been experimenting with watercolours and digital artwork, where I can have fun exploring different colours, patterns and ideas that I wouldn’t necessarily create with pen and paper.

Alongside my original artwork, I create prints in different sizes, as well as stickers and bookmarks. I love finding ways to turn my artwork into little things people can take home, whether that’s a print for the wall, a sticker for a laptop or notebook, or a bookmark for their latest read.

I’m still experimenting, learning and figuring out where my artwork will take me, and I hope others can enjoy it to. 🖤”
