TWO WW1 RGA MEDAL GROUPS. FIRSTLY GNR CHESSMAN ROYAL GARRISON ARTILLERY, 25/5/1917 A LETTER WAS SENT TO MRS CHESSMAN FROM ARMY CHAPLIN C.J. HORSLEY-SMITH 7TH CASUALTY CLEARING STATION STATING THAT HE WAS INJURED AND RECEIVING THE BEST OF CARE, FIVE DAYS LATER SHE RECEIVED A SECOND LETTER DATED 30/5/1917 FROM REGISTERED NURSE MARION BANNISTER (VERY FAMOUS NURSE WHO RETIRED AT THE AGE OF 60 JUST AFTER BEING EVACUATED FROM THE BEACHES OF DUNKIRK, ALSO HAS A BOOK SOLELY ABOUT HER) THE LETTER EXPLAINING THAT GNR CHESSMAN HAD UNFORTUNATELY PASSED DUE TO BURNS TO FACE,HEAD,LEGS AND ARMS. ALL THREE MEDALS TO GNR CHESSMAN ARE MISSPELT BUT CORRECT SERVICE NUMBER. I BELIEVE THAT GNR CHESSMAN AND GNR BOSHER WERE FRIENDS AND BEFORE GNR CHESSMAN DIED HE ASKED THAT GNR BOSHER CHECKED ON HIS FAMILY AFTER THE WAR HAD FINISHED, BOSHER DID THIS AND ENDED UP MARYING GNR CHESSMANS WIDOW. GNR BOSHERS MONS TRIO ARE ALL CORRECTLY NAMED WITH SERVICE NUMBER. A TRULY WONDERFUL COLLECTION OF MILITARY HISTORY WITH THE MEDALS, ORIGINAL LETTERS AND A GREAT STORY.

Fully cleaned and serviced 1963/4 Burns London Jazz Split Sonic guitar. Born in England in 1959, Burns London was founded by Alice Louise Farrell and James Ormston (Jim) Burns.
At the dawn of the electric guitar, a time when the modern "royal" style had not yet been established, many products appeared with the potential to become the next generation standard, and among them, there was a unique product. The brand that showed this feeling was Burns London.
In 1965, the company was acquired by the long-established Baldwin Piano & Organ Company, and the company name was changed to "Baldwin Barnes."
Baldwin, the largest keyboard manufacturer in the United States, had previously been proactive in entering the LM market, including attempting to acquire Fender, but the introduction of guitars in piano retail stores did not get off the ground. In the late 1960s, the company focused on guitars and drums from the newly acquired Gretsch brand, and the Burns brand shrunk and production ended in 1970.
This device "Jazz Split Sound" was introduced in 1962.
From 1963 to 1965, the American distribution model was sold under the "Ampeg" brand, and from 1965 onwards, it became the "Baldwin" brand and the head shape was changed.
