We like 3D Design at Plymouth University because we can try all 3 disciplines and then decide whether to specialise or generalise:
Designer for Industry
Designer Maker (Wood, Metal & Ceramics) and
Interior Designer. We do lots of making, and have our own space in the open plan design studio. We can work there 7 days a week till late, and there are CAD stations and our own table tennis table and kitchens.

🏆 For the 5th year in a row, a team of 1st and 2nd year multidisciplinary 3D design students have designed and made this year’s 2026 UPSU Beacon awards.
Taking inspiration from Plymouth coastline, the students used the universities state of the art, design and technology facililies to produce ten awards which were presented to winners at the awards ceremony.
