Yesterday I was back at melodieparkyork for the lovely Angie and Al. Not a sugar flower insight. Instead edible image with an icing wedding dress to match the bride’s dress including the chiffon ribbon ties at the back. The date was blue in a nod to Al’s love for his football team!! Then a pair of sugar wedding rings sat on top. Bottom tier was Cherry Bakewell and then a carrot cake tier. The top tier was a dummy tier which can be used when you want a tall cake but your numbers don’t call for that much cake!!!

Did you know that some of the most popular components of wedding flowers are toxic. This cake features 3 of them, but don’t worry these are all sugar. That way you can match the rest your wedding florals with your cake. I’m very strict about what real flowers will go on a cake and I won’t use artificial flowers(don’t get me started on that one!!) so to allow you to have your choice of flowers I create them in sugar.

Wednesday saw me back at Hackness Grange for Emily and Benjamin’s wedding. When my couples want gypsophilia and eucalyptus on their wedding cake it’s not a problem and there will be no toxic issues to worry about. I just make them in sugar. This features hand crafted sugar roses, hydrangeas, gypsophilia and foliage. With three gorgeous tiers of Sticky Toffee, Cherry Bakewell and a top tier of my boozy fruit cake.

Who’s coming to see me tomorrow wold_view_farm_weddings. There will be lots of fantastic suppliers plus the chance to see this amazing venue set up for a wedding and have a look around the grounds and accommodation on offer. I’m just about to start on a new cake especially for this venue, then I will get the tasters ready. See you tomorrow from 12 until 4
