A slightly different start to my day today…

I was on BBC Radio Solent's Dorset Breakfast Show taking part in a Would I Lie To You?-style quiz.

Three stories. Two truths. One lie.

Could you spot mine? 👀

And yes… one of the stories involved George Clarke. 😂

🎧 If you fancy having a listen, I'm on from 1:24:30. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0030mkj

A big thank you to Steve Harris and Michelle Langthorne from for having me on the show

Is there a room in your home that never quite feels right?

Perhaps it's the kitchen that always feels cluttered, the living room that's difficult to relax in, or the bedroom where sleep doesn't come as easily as it should.

When we're busy, it's easy to assume that stress, poor sleep or daily frustrations are simply part of modern life. Sometimes, however, our homes can make those challenges feel even bigger.

Small things add up:
• Not enough storage
• Awkward layouts
• Poor lighting
• Excess noise
• Spaces that don't support the way we actually live

Thoughtful design isn't about following trends or creating picture-perfect rooms. It's about making everyday life feel a little easier, calmer and more enjoyable.

A home should work with you, not against you.

What's one room in your home you'd love to improve?

Who said a white kitchen was boring? 🤍

When my clients moved into their new home, the kitchen was already white. Rather than replacing perfectly good cabinetry, we chose to work with what was there and focus our budget where it would make the biggest impact.

We replaced the worktops, added extra cabinetry to improve functionality, introduced these beautiful textured green tiles, and carefully styled the space to bring warmth and personality.

The result is a kitchen that feels completely transformed, without the cost, waste, and disruption of a full replacement.

One of the things I love most about interior design is helping clients see the potential in what they already have. Sometimes the most successful projects aren't about starting from scratch; they're about making thoughtful changes that elevate a space and make it truly theirs.

✨Would you keep an existing kitchen and update it, or would you always start again? ✨

TONIGHT!

A quick update on the Channel 4 George Clarke series that I posted about last week! ✨

Our kitchen project is now featuring in the opening sequence of the programme. It's incredibly exciting to see a project I've designed appear on national television and to know it will continue to be seen throughout the series.

There will also be a dedicated feature on the project which is still expected to air later this year, so there's even more to look forward to!

The series will be running for the next 8 weeks, so if you're watching, keep an eye out for it. 👀

Thank you to everyone who has messaged, asked for updates and shared in the excitement. Your support for Harmony Design means so much.

Charming storage makeover for this listed cottage ✨

For this beautiful listed cottage, we designed a completely bespoke wardrobe solution to work around the original beams, uneven walls, and unique character of the room. Working alongside our trusted carpenter, every inch was carefully made to measure to create a seamless fit.

We incorporated integrated drawers, shelving, and hanging space to maximise storage while keeping the room feeling calm and uncluttered. We also opted for a soft off-white finish with warm brass handles to brighten the space whilst still complementing the cottage’s character and warmth.

The result is a practical, contemporary storage solution that feels perfectly at home within this period property.

For everyone who’s been asking about Harmony Design appearing on the new Channel 4 George Clarke show, I’ve now heard from the production crew. They are still filming for the show, which will feature my project in the opening credits sequence and also with it's own segment as an inspiration piece in an episode.

There have been delays in filming schedules, editing and production timelines, but I’ve been told they’re hoping for it to air later this year.

It’s been such an exciting experience being involved, and I’m really looking forward to finally being able to share the finished programme with you all. Thank you so much to everyone who’s been asking, supporting and following the journey, it genuinely means a lot.

I’ll keep you updated!

One of the things I love most about my job is that sometimes, a small amount of guidance can make a huge difference to someone’s confidence at home.

A client recently called me feeling completely stuck with colour choices for her house. She didn’t need a full redesign, just someone to help her make sense of all the options and bring everything together.

We spent an hour going through each room, talking about light, flow, mood and how she wanted the spaces to feel. By the end of the consultation, she had a clear and bespoke colour plan for her whole home and, more importantly, the confidence to move forward with it.

It’s easy to underestimate how overwhelming colour decisions can feel when you’re living with them every day. Sometimes all you need is a calm conversation and an experienced eye to help everything click into place.

Small but Mighty: The Walk-In Wardrobe You Didn't Know You Could Have ✨

Think your awkward roof slope can't be useful? Think again.
We transformed this tucked-away corner into a stylish, walk-in wardrobe with clever hanging storage and just enough headroom to feel luxurious.

Perfect for those “dead spaces” you thought were useless, we turn them into dream spaces.

Smart design.
Hidden storage.
Big impact.

📍 From a past project, but still turning heads.

Want to make the most of your tricky spaces? Let’s talk.

Finished project 🌟

These clients were a dream to work with. Before they moved in, we helped them create a vision for what was basically a bland white box into something with a bit more soul.

The brief was a Japandi-inspired kitchen / dining / living space, but still with character. They both have big personalities (and one of them loves colour!), so it was important the space didn’t feel flat or too boring.

Because of the different ceiling heights, we used one grounding paint colour across the space to tie everything together and make it feel calmer and more cohesive.

We worked with the existing kitchen, adding extra cabinetry, changing the worktop and bringing in tiles to lift it. We also kept some really personal pieces, like the dining table made by the client’s dad, and gave it a new high-gloss finish, which feels very “now”.

New flooring, furniture, and a bespoke bench seat with storage all helped finish the space off. A few final bits like artwork and cushions still to come, but we’re basically there.

Did you catch the CGI’s in the video? How similar do you think it turned out?
