We specialise in paint your own pottery items, baby hand and footprints and creating your own items out of clay in some of our themed workshops. We offer private bookings for birthday parties, hen parties and baby showers. We also host guest artists and crafters workshops in a range of different media, such as silver jewellery and resin.

Yesterday we held part 2 of our Raku workshop with esther_ley_ceramic_art and ah.pottery6.

We started with our bisque fired pieces that we made in part 1, then we applied a mixture of metallic oxides and glazed them with Raku glaze.
Esther and Anna then filled up the kiln and fired it up to a temperature of around 1000°c 🥵 for around 45mins.
Once it reached its peak temp Esther safely moved them into the metal bins filled with sawdust to begin the reduction, these were then sealed with damp cloths to starve them of any oxygen so the smoke and fire were forced to pull oxygen from the glazes, after around 20 mins we were greeted with vibrant metallic lusters and unique carbon marks.

Safe to say everyone was fascinated and enjoyed every moment.
