Craft Genres Collaborate

Sometimes it’s difficult or expensive to find a replacement part for an older machine or piece of equipment.

Not a problem here at Lily’s Craft Attic !

Lost a vital piece for your craft equipment - let’s make another one then!

Thelma to the rescue for one of our donated sewing machines which sadly has no spool 🧵 holder,,, and therefore out of action.

A discarded sewing machine missing a vital part now has a new life in our sewing workshop with a lovely new 3d printed spool holder thanks to the ingenuity of Thelma.

A machine back in use , diverted from landfill and £💰saved.

All sewn up. Well that was a lovely way to spend an autumn Saturday. It might have been wet and windy outside but it was warm and mostly calm in Lily’s Craft Attic. Some beautiful bags created today and some great transferable skills learnt. Well done everyone!

We’re always learning too! 💜

One of the things Lynn and I really enjoy is getting the opportunity to be the students for a change!

We recently spent a lovely day attending a bookbinding class, learning new techniques, experimenting with different materials and discovering new ways of creating these beautiful handmade books.

And, of course, there was plenty of chatting, laughing and enjoying being creative together along the way. 😊

For us, attending classes like this isn’t just about making something lovely for ourselves. It’s about continuing to learn and develop our own skills so that we can bring new ideas, techniques and inspiration back to everyone at Lily’s Craft Attic.

We think that’s an important part of teaching crafts. There is always something new to discover, a different way of doing something, or another creative rabbit hole to disappear down!

The beautiful books in the photos are some of the results of our day — and we may just have come home with our heads full of ideas. ❤️

So watch this space… some of what Lynn and I have been learning might just find its way onto the table at Lily’s Craft Attic very soon!
