Call Directions Website Contact the business

We specialise in Continental antique furniture, especially decorative original painted pieces. We love wood, we particularly love aged wood. Give us a call.

Our newest items have been recycled for sixty years, and our oldest pieces for two hundred. We love giving some of our furniture a new lease of life with Earthborn clay paint or just a good wax! However much is original and unique and untouched which makes it so special. We’ve been in the furniture business since 1978, which, makes me old, but not as old as our newest furniture, it also means we have a wealth of experience and knowledge for the authentic and we believe if you look after people, they’ll look after you! We attend regular fairs and markets and can arrange to show you what's in our warehouse currently by appointment only. There has never been a better time to buy old furniture, especially from people as passionate about their product as us!

Drumrolls please for this freestanding pale beauty!
A fortunate find which we have had to be very patient to get our hands on, but definitely worth the wait.

Everything about this just shouts understated quality. The top does separate from the base if needed, which is great for transportation. All in all incredibly well built it even has side channels for the drawers so they can comfortably glide when fully loaded.

The top can house a lot of life’s essentials, and showcase some of your favourite things. For us it’s always a mix of vintage with our collection of much loved Polish pottery.

A working key locks both doors and ample shelves make this a stand out piece for any kitchen or dining space.

Available now. DM to buy and discuss delivery options.

This stunning and rare pair of chairs have just arrived and they really just the sort of special find we are always looking for.

Early 19th century, pine construction originally painted black with layers of dry scraped paint - classical Swedish wheat sheaf backrests, very like the Hepplewhite style of English chairs and upholstered in a vintage soft pale off white h**p fabric.

P I N E P E R F E C T I O N ! 🔴 SOLD
This week has been hands down one of the best weeks for sourcing some of the most beautiful things.
Any trader will tell you how hard it is to find pale Victorian pine pieces of this scale in such fabulous condition. They often hot foot it off with the American buyers, but honestly I would love this one to find its new perfect home here. Well not here! We just don’t have the space for this one but it’s definitely got everything we seek for our own home vibe and I know you’re going to love it too.

12 deep separated shelved sections, partially glazed so good for hiding away some practical less pretty things, but then wow! The display potential coupled with practicality are endless.
Lovely shaping to the apron base, which continues around the sides. Pale warm honey coloured pine and nice simple but original catches make this cupboard utterly perfect in our opinion 🤩

148 cm wide x 208 tall x 53 deep (cornice)
12 sectioned shelves (not removable)
Shelves - 43 deep x 56 wide x 30 tall each

I just wanted to add that yesterday I had the most incredible day buying The Country House Car Boot - my first time there and it really was as good as everyone had said it was. Perhaps it was because it was the last one of the year, but the stalls were endless with so much quality, I found a plethora of beautiful smaller items that made my heart sing. I bumped into so many friends and fellow instagram dealers and traders it was just the best day out and my car was fully laden with great finds!

Some of my most special finds from yesterday are shown here, 4 stunning creamware handmade plates, large dinner and 4 x large side plates by the beautiful and impeccable masters of understated beauty STRAW

A stunning huge French confit pot
36 cm tall !

A huge Greens 15.5 diameter mixing bowl

So much more art, textiles, pottery which I will share on here as soon as I can get my self together! But tomorrow we head to Ardingly so if you’re coming come and see us!

There is a lovely surprise inside! A small inner drawer probably originally for candles. Original handles, escutcheons and paint. There are a few age related marks and scuffs but overall in great condition. No worm, and a very solid piece ready to provide great storage whilst also looking great in many different room settings.
