So a cloudy Sunday...

I hope you had good Saturday and a special hello to my and new followers.

A different type of post today as I thought I'd share some photos of a recent day trip.

Monday is my day off and so this week I took myself off to London to meet a friend; 2 hours on a train without using my phone was bliss.

We walked from Victoria station through Knightsbridge to the V&A stopping en route to look at Halloween (apologies for the angle of the photo) and other displays. Our main reason for visiting the museum was to see the current display of Freddie Mercury's clothes. It's very relaxed following a trail through different areas of the museum which means not a lot of queueing and it brought back so many memories. There was also an exhibition of the work of the designer Schiaparelli which was very busy indeed.

Then it was off to the Wallace Collection which is a short walk from Selfridges, walking through Oxford street en route felt very different now it's pedestrianised. A totally enjoyable visit and unfortunately we didn't have time to take in the current exhibition of Winston Churchill's paintings.

After an early dinner it was back to the station for the train ride home...A day of walking, talking, laughing and looking🩷

Good morning,

I hope you had a good weekend and got to spend some quality time at some point. Crafting can be a good escape from everything in the news at the moment so don't forget to keep looking for those little nuggets of joy wherever you can find one.

My major nugget last week was my delivery from Hunkydory, so without more ramblings from me here's the first of what will probably be quite a few posts.

First up is the 'Year of flowers' luxury card toppers range and I've started with October to go through the 12 designs. Each sheet is made from their 'adorable scorable' cardstock and is £1.99 a sheet. These are currently only available in store.

Personally I love the cherry blossom for March; if you have a favourite please feel free to comment!

Good evening,

I thought you might like to see my offering for Christmas theme fat quarters...I don't normally stock fabric but thought that I'd offer my customers something different this year.

So each piece measures w/h 54cm x 45cm, the cottons are washable at 40 degrees and the tartan as it's a mix at 30 degrees. The linen and jute are single pieces and each measures 54cm x 45cm, the linen can be hand washed and the jute must not be washed at all.

Hello how are you, I hope you're having a good week?

I've often found punching shapes out of cardstock and paper quite a relaxing process.

Here's 3 reasons to get your punches out of the box if you have them at home...

1. If you craft with children it's a great way to have lots of pre made shapes (colours/seasonal theme) so that the actual 'craft time' is perhaps more productive. Remember most can be used on the thinner sheets of funky foam as well.

2. In a few 'mindful minutes' make a stash of shapes to use later when you perhaps just want to spend an hour or so creating embellishments.

3. They stop us just adding off cuts to the 'will come in handy' box/tin/folder/envelope/drawer 😇

If you don't have a punch here's some suggestions.

I hope you're having a lovely Bank Holiday weekend!

Customers often ask me if I sell post cards and/or fridge magnets. So I just wanted to share with you that I now stock these cute watercolour 'Hampshire' post cards and also the fridge magnet from the same range.

I've read lately that post cards are back in vogue and it's now, once again, very fashionable to send them (remember the days before the internet!). Fridge magnets are just as trendy...

Well it's the weekend and we're back to blue skies...

So today, I'm just wanting to show you the lovely range of writing sets currently in stock from @ Rachel Ellen Designs.

These are great to put in a bag to take away for the day or on a longer break/holiday. With clear cheerful designs, children will love to write a few lines to send to their grandparents, friends or another special person. Finished off of course with a sticker!

I think it's important to still teach our children the beauty of the written word and the wholesome life experience of receiving something which is hand written.
