The heron is happily enjoying its eel lunch on 300gsm watercolour paper, and I’m so pleased with how it’s come together.
Time for me to grab a brew and some brunch.

💙After helping my eldest with a fab project, Tonight’s unexpected creative side quest: making a fully lined, cosy little sleeping bag for the teddy who “absolutely cannot sleep without proper bedding, mummy”.💙
🧵So here I am, stitching away like some sort of midnight craft‑witch, accidentally levelling up my sewing skills and creating a tiny quilted masterpiece for a plush superhero.
Lil Thor is now living their best luxury‑spa‑retreat life.
Me? Powered by snacks and pure mum‑chaos magic. 🥰

✨ Heron WIP + Mum Summer Chaos Mode 🥰✨
My heron is so close to being finished 🖤which is wild considering I’ve painted half of it while rescuing snacks, negotiating bedtime, and stopping small humans from “helping” by adding their own artistic fingerprints. Somehow the this piece is coming together beautifully anyway, and I’m ridiculously excited it’s almost done.

Print‑test day for my little oystercatcher! 🖤
I’m pulling a few trial runs to check the composition, tidy up any bits that need a tweak, and make sure the whole piece feels just right before I commit to the final carve.

Now I’m torn… do I go full dramatic black for that classic lino punch, or add just a touch of colour to highlight those features -the beak and those bold little legs? 🎨
The possibilities are endless, and that’s exactly why I love this stage.

Ink on my fingers, tools everywhere, studio shed humming. Bliss. 🥰
