A fabulous new sample garment in the shop knit in Sirdar Stories DK. This colourful cotton blend yarn is 60% cotton and 40% acrylic, soft and smooth but it doesn't sag like some pure cottons do when they are washed or well worn.
This oversized sweater from the Graffiti collection is an easier knit than it looks, knitting in stripes of just one colour at a time with a dramatic slip stitch effect.

How are you coping with knitting in this week's hot weather?
I have been finding a shaded corner of the garden and knitting or crocheting just small things. I also find a dusting of baby powder helps with sweaty hands and the knitting smells lovely too.
My big chunky Jewelspun cardigan is on hold for the moment?

Granny's little knitwear model is wearing one of our most popular baby knits in Stylecraft Bambino DK. The button bands on each shoulder open up to make it easier to dress this little wriggler.
Second size is on the needles for next winter, despite the weather this week.

Show and tell from the shop on Saturday and Sandra came in wearing her lovely new knitted waistcoat. This easy knit King Cole pattern has the bands knit vertically and sewn in place, ideal for those of you who don't like to pick up and knit the button band. The pattern will knit in any standard DK yarn and Sandra has chosen Stylecraft Bambino Prints DK, shade puzzle.

Show and tell from Saturday's knit and natter and Julia has knit a pair of these beautiful baby blankets in Sirdar Snuggly Cashmere Merino DK. They are beautiful and soft in this luxury yarn which is a blend of the natural fibres of Merino wool and Cashmere with a little bit of acrylic
for ease of care. It also has beautiful stitch definition which shows off the pattern perfectly. This silver colour is a perfect gender neutral shade too.

What's on the hook Wednesday? Jodie is crocheting the beautiful Eastern Jewels colourway of the Janie Crow Persian Tiles blanket. When I saw the pattern I was quite daunted by it, but seeing the individual " tiles" I think it's probably a lovely project to make. Kits still available in the shop.
