CORE Lighting High performance Battery Powered event lighting We use Lithium Ion batteries to give a run time of 8 hours or more and recharge of less than 5 hours.

Core Lighting design and manufacture exceptionally high performance battery powered and wireless controlled LED lights that are ideal for use at events. The lights are fitted with high performance RGB and While LEDS to give bright, rich, saturated colours, including full hues of white with an output of 2100 lumens (As good as, or better, than many mains powered units, capable of lighting 4-5 storeys of a building). All the units have full Wireless DMX control. Of course the real benefit comes from:
1. Exceptionally quick installation, no need for a 'sparky'
2. Flexibility. Drop the lights down where-ever you want - no cable runs.
3. Environmentally friendly. Efficient LED power and no need for generators
4. Health and safety. As well as no trip hassards from cables, the lights dont get hot

The clocks went back last week. This is the first full week of dark evenings, and the first question anyone asks about battery floodlights is how long they'll last.

Straight answers, from our own spec sheets:

CORE FLOOD 20K (26Ah): 2hrs at full output, 4hrs on medium, 6hrs on low
CORE FLOOD 20K (52Ah): 4hrs at full output, 8hrs on medium, 13hrs on low
CORE FLOOD PRO 24K: 7hrs at full output, 14hrs on medium, 22hrs on low

Most evening sessions don't need full output for the whole time. A 90 minute training slot, an evening schooling session or the last hour of a shift on site is well inside every unit in the range, with room to spare.

Pick the unit for the hours you actually need to cover, not the biggest number on the box.

An unlit pitch is out of action most evenings from now until March.
Permanent floodlights mean columns, cabling and often a planning application. Portable floodlights don't.

CORE FLOOD lights stand on tripods along the touchline, and the focused optics keep the light on the pitch rather than in the neighbours' windows. The FLOOD 20K runs for up to 4 hours 15 minutes at full brightness on a single charge, enough for a full training session with time to spare. Every light in the range is IP65 rated, so they work in whatever weather a Tuesday night in November brings.

Football is one of the biggest uses for our lights, from grassroots clubs to training grounds.

Our guide to portable floodlights covers how many you need and how to choose:

Cold affects battery runtime. Here is how to plan around it for a winter event.

The clocks go back on Sunday 25 October.

For a lot of clubs, that's the end of evening training on any pitch or court without floodlights, until March.

It doesn't have to be. CORE FLOOD portable floodlights set up in minutes, need no mains power or generator, and don't need planning permission in most places. They're used for football, rugby, tennis, padel, hockey, netball, cricket and bootcamps, as well as equestrian arenas and work sites.

Funding is available too. Various sports bodies offer grants towards portable floodlights, and some cover up to 100% of the cost.

Our new guide covers where portable floodlights work, where they don't, and how to choose the right one:https://bit.ly/4hDqCDW
