Everyone says you need luxury projects to succeed as an interior designer.

I disagree.

Some of the most successful designers I’ve mentored started with small projects, simple services and ordinary clients.

The formula is surprisingly simple:

•One service
•One niche
•One problem
•One clear USP
•A strong professional network

Most designers overcomplicate everything. More services. More content. More ideas. More confusion.

The fastest path to success is simplification!

That’s exactly what we focus on inside IntoDesign.

Learn the skills. Build experience. Get clients. Grow your business. One project at a time.

You can learn mood boards, colour schemes and floor plans.

But what happens when a real client emails you?
What do you send?

How much do you charge?
What goes in the proposal?
What happens in the consultation?
How do you present ideas?
What if they change their mind?
How do you actually run the project?

Most interior design education stops before the real world begins.

Inside IntoDesign, you can shadow my real client projects from start to finish.

Not polished case studies.
Not made-up examples.
Real projects.
Real clients.
Real problems.
Real decisions.

You’ll see the drawings, presentations, specifications, pricing, client communication, mistakes, changes and everything in between. You can use my projects to build your portfolio or just take what you need.

Because the goal was never to complete another course. The goal was to become a working interior designer.

Intodesign is my mentorship membership for interior designers who want to build skills, gain experience, find clients and grow their careers.

Commit to the year. Show up each week. Build your career one step at a time.

Did you know we have an International Sourcing List inside IntoDesign?

The sourcing list includes a collection of suppliers, brands and resources covering furniture, lighting, finishes, fittings, textiles and more.

It’s designed to help you find products more quickly, discover new suppliers and build your own network of trusted resources as you work on projects.

A sneak peek at a project I’ve been working on over the past few weeks.

Charter House is a boutique apartment building in the heart of Covent Garden, surrounded by theatres, history and some of London’s most iconic streets. Rather than simply redesigning the communal areas, I’ve been creating an entirely new interior identity for the building, developing everything from the branding and signage through to the materials, lighting, carpets and resident experience.

One of the things I love most about projects like this is that the design goes beyond selecting finishes. It’s about creating a sense of place. A building with its own personality, story and atmosphere.

The concept takes inspiration from the theatre district surrounding the building, combining warm bronze tones, rich textures, elegant lighting and bespoke branding to create something that feels sophisticated, welcoming and distinctly Covent Garden.

There’s still plenty to finalise before the presentation goes out, but I couldn’t resist sharing a little glimpse of where it’s heading.
I’d love to know what you think.

It has been six months since we finished our last round of the 90 Day Mentorship Programme and I have to admit it has taken me longer than expected to articulate exactly what IntoDesign is and what I want it to become.

I think this is the closest I’ve come so far, so I wanted to share it with you all and ask for some honest feedback from both members and non-members.

Does it make sense? Is it clear? And if you had to describe IntoDesign in just one word, what would that word be?

To everyone here who continues to be part of this journey, whether as a mentee, member or friend, thank you. You’ve allowed me the space to build, experiment, learn and create something a little different. My hope has always been to support as many interior designers as possible, helping people build careers they genuinely love and thrive doing work that matters to them.

I’d love to hear your thoughts. ā¤ļø

Join us for todays lighting tool masterclass on IntoDesign. Finally a visual way to design and present lighting without technical errors (that most designers don’t realise they’re making!)

Today at midday 12pm London UK time. Which program do you use for lighting?

A simple tool to train your eye...

Something I suggest all designers do is get themselves a high-end colour chart. It doesn’t matter which brand it is (although my preference is Farrow and Ball) so you can start training your eye to see how light affects colour. What you’re looking for is the sheen and it changes everything.

I literally live and breathe design. No matter what day of the week šŸ˜‚

Luckily Darius doesn’t mind! ā¤ļø Even on holidays he’ll go miles out of the way to see a random building with me. It definitely takes patience being married to a designer.

On another note… yay, it’s finally Spring in England!

Most courses focus heavily on the creative side of design, but almost completely avoid the business side that determines whether someone can actually turn their skills into a sustainable career.

That is why so many aspiring designers feel confident creating beautiful spaces, yet completely lost when it comes to structuring services, managing scope and pricing their work professionally.

This is exactly why I created the Pricing Interior Design Services Course.

To help designers stop guessing, stop undercharging and start building a real business around their skills.
