Corten steel is designed to look after itself, but a little care early on makes all the difference 🤝
Here are three simple tips to keep your edging looking its best as it weathers:
1. Keep it natural
No need for paints, sealants, or harsh cleaners. Corten forms its own protective layer over time, so just give it the occasional rinse and let nature do the rest.
2. Let it breathe
Good drainage is key. Try to avoid areas where water sits, and keep leaves or soil from building up against the steel so it can properly dry out between rain.
3. Expect a little runoff at first
During the early months, some rust will wash off with rain. A small gravel edge or a bit of planning around lighter surfaces can help manage this while the finish settles.
