🧶♟️ When two crafts collide…

Work in progress at CraftSmithy HQ: a crocheted chess board! I’ve been bringing together my love of chess and crochet with this quirky project—granny squares in James C Brett DK Merino yarn, carefully blocked using Yarnsmith combs and boards. All sourced from the lovely Wool Warehouse UK.

It’s been a mindful and creative journey—slow, satisfying, and full of texture. Can’t wait to share the finished board (and maybe host a woolly match or two)!

First go at and I LOVE it. Thanks for producing such a wonderful beginners kit. Such modern colours and patterns available, quality supplies and your kit production is so professional!

Some customer feedback for you would be to have the needle pierced through paper to hold it, rather than a sticker. Sticker residue remained on the needle afterwards, so I had to try and get that off before I could use it. Thats no complaint though and I’d totally purchase another even without that alteration 😂

So therapeutic and a wonderful piece of art to hang on my wall at the end of it 💜
