Diversion*

Woke up this morning after a really vivid dream of friends from long, long ago and time spent when living in the UAE. I’ll ruminate (what a lovely word…) on its significance, if any, while I get pleasantly diverted and distracted, as is my preferred course of action, on my favourite day of the week (day off).

* trivia - this road sign photo is from long ago, about 1997-98. At one point I was living in Abu Dhabi, but commuting daily to Dubai, along the main coastal road. It was a fast two lane highway, with little traffic as you whizzed through the desert, but with the added hazard of speed bumps at various points. Heaven help you if you didn’t slow down in time… I’m sure the bumps have long gone; it’d be like having speed bumps on the M25!

How good are these? Smashing student kawandi stockings from our first two workshops. There were whoops of satisfaction last night from all our stitchers as they finished sewing.

The final Kawandi Stockings workshop for this year is booking now - two sessions starting at the end of October. So put your best foot forward and head to the website now for more details. These are so fun to sew - you won’t stop at one - student Sarah is currently sewing seven!

All change in the shop today. On the to-do list between customers, we’ll be moving all our Halloween fabrics to the front 🎃, removing the last of the sale, changing one of the windows, unpacking several huge deliveries, teaching this evening … phew! 🍪 🍪 🍪 And people think we just sit and look wistfully at fabrics! 😂
