The beginning of Oscar’s bedroom transformation… 🎨

If you saw my Story a few days ago, you’ll have seen where we’re starting — his new room was yellow, with the yellow and grey geometric wallpaper already removed.

Now the fun part begins: designing it.

Oscar has ADHD and can find it difficult to settle and switch off, so creating a bedroom that feels calm and comfortable is an important part of the brief. But just as importantly, it needs to feel like his room — personal, practical and somewhere he enjoys being.

I’m taking you through the design process as we go, starting with the concept and colour palette.
The Trail, Navy, Clay & Sand. 🤎

And this is just the beginning… ✨

September is here, and I’m very happy to see the kids back at school! 😂 After a busy summer of camping, Italy and moving house, I’m finally getting back into a bit of routine. This month’s blog is all about How to Choose Colours for a Sensory-Aware Home — something I’m putting into practice myself as we start decorating my 9-year-old son’s new bedroom. 🎨 He has ADHD, and I’ll be sharing more about the choices we’re making for his space too. Have a read if you’d like to understand how colour can play a part in creating a home that feels calmer and more supportive. 💛

‍ Well… what a summer!‍ ‍ The school holidays have definitely kept me busy over the last couple of months. As well as juggling work with having the kids at home, we managed to squeeze in some camping, a trip to Italy and, because apparently we didn't have enough going on, we also moved house...

With the new school term just around the corner, lots of families are starting to think about uniforms, lunch boxes and getting back into routine. 🎒
For many neurodivergent children, though, going back to school can bring extra worries. New teachers, changing routines, unfamiliar environments and the effort of getting through the school day can all feel overwhelming. Research has shown that school transitions are a significant source of concern for many neurodivergent children and their families.
What often gets forgotten is what happens after the school day ends.
Home is where many children finally feel safe enough to let go of everything they've been holding in.
That's why I believe our homes should do more than look beautiful—they should support regulation, rest and everyday family life.
💬 What helps your child unwind after school?

Booking a discovery call can feel like a big step... but I promise it's much more relaxed than you might think. 🤍
There's no hard sell, no obligation to book and definitely no judgement.
It's simply an opportunity for us to chat about your home, what's not quite working and what you'd love to change.
I'll ask a few questions, listen to your ideas and explain how I might be able to help. If we decide we're a good fit, fantastic! If not, you've still had the chance to talk things through and hopefully leave with a little more clarity.
Finding the right interior designer is important, and I want you to feel comfortable asking questions before making any decisions.
✨ If you've been thinking about transforming your home but haven't known where to start, I'd love to chat.
Send me a message and we can arrange a free, no-obligation discovery call.

Choosing paint is about so much more than picking a colour you like. 🎨
When I'm designing a home, I don't just think about the shade on the wall.
I consider things like:
✨ How the room is used.
✨ The amount of natural light.
✨ The paint finish.
✨ The quality of the paint, including low VOC options.
✨ And, most importantly, the people who live there.
There isn't a universal "best" colour for ADHD or Autism. Every person experiences their environment differently, which is why thoughtful, personalised design is so important.
If you're planning to redecorate, don't just ask, "What colour should I choose?"
Ask, "How do I want this room to feel?"
💬 What's the first thing you look for when choosing paint?

Does your living room seem to do... everything? 🙈
One minute it’s a playroom, the next it’s a home office, then somewhere to relax at the end of the day.

For neurodivergent families especially, creating clear zones can help reduce overwhelm and make everyday life feel that little bit easier.

The good news? You don’t need a bigger home. Simple changes like using furniture to define spaces, creating a cosy retreat or giving each area a purpose can make a real difference.

Because a calm home isn’t about having more space—it’s about making the space you have work better for your family.

If you’re looking at your home thinking, “I just don’t know where to start,” you’re not alone. Pop me a message—I’d be happy to help.

Happy National Left-Handers Day! 👋
Fun fact... I'm left-handed, and so is my son.
Did you know only around 10% of people are left-handed, but some research suggests it's a little more common in people with ADHD and dyslexia?
I always find things like this so interesting. It's another reminder that we're all wired differently, and that's exactly why I believe our homes should be designed around the people living in them.
Who's in the left-handed club? 🙋‍♀️
