Mixing not matching…
The whole ensemble just works: hex tiles exposed, a copper basin on a wooden worktop, a frameless mirror lit by industrial lighting. It really shouldn’t, but it does. Matchy-matchy is well and truly out.
Look at the mirror. Frameless and backlit was the right call: a front-lit frame would have separated it from the wall, when the whole point is that it belongs to it.
And of the shapes that would have worked, the organic one was the most interesting: it doesn’t repeat the curve of the basin, it plays against the grid instead of echoing it.
Bethan Lloyd Morgan of Freshwater Interiors knows exactly what she’s doing. And the Claris Organic was the perfect mirror for this project.
