Today’s prompt is , so it’s going to be another Salem appreciation post!! Yes getting a cat was the best decision for me, it’s a little bit of responsibility I can handle even on my worse days and he always makes me smile, especially when he’s ‘helping’ in the sewing room!! (See photo!)

I also moved into my own house a year ago, and although it’s not been easy getting the place up to scratch its all really been worth it to have my own space to live and work!

It’s of !!

Todays prompt is 3 things, following lead, here are three things about me…

🧵First picture; this is my cat Salem, or more accurately I’m his human! He is a huge scaredy-cat, terrified of small children and hates other cats. He had a tough start in life and has come a long way after lots of patience and treats. I love having him around when I’m working to keep me company (except when he’s stealing all my cotton!).

🧵Second picture; you may have guess by the name of my shop and my logo, but I love anything witchy! Also anything to do with fantasy, sci-fi, Disney, Marvel and other geeky and nerdy things! I also love the natural world, plants and flowers are amazing and I’m hoping with my rebranding to bring a lot more of this witchy aesthetic into my work. (Hand embroidered hoop by me!)

🧵Last picture (Project for a friend!); before the fibro and The Haunted Bobbin I qualified as a science teacher but I was unable to carry on teaching due to my illness. Thankfully growing up I was always doing crafty things, my mum taught me how to use a sewing machine at a young age. So I taught my self to make clothes for myself and then I started making them for others… And that was how The Haunted Bobbin was created.

Day 2 of is .

My brand isn’t that defined yet however there are a few things that are important to me as a maker:

🧵I want to produce as little waste as possible, if I think I could possibly make something out of it (fabric, paper, anything really) I keep it. Hence the box of fabric scraps in the picture above!!!

🧵I want to have fun when I’m making, as it’s said a person who enjoys what they do never works a day in their life!! Anything to reduce stress in my life and crafting is a well known remedy to stress and anxiety.

🧵Finally, something I want to be better at in the future is to be present. I’ve never been very good at posting photos or showing off my work, hopefully will help!

Hello! I’m back! It’s been a while since I’ve been on here but I’ve decided to give a go.

I’m starting from scratch (which is why I’ve remove all previous posts) and I’m attempting a bit of a rebranding!

So about me: my name is Helen and I started selling as The Haunted Bobbin almost 4 years ago. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia a bit before that and realised that life would be a little easier if I worked from home. So I put my many years of random crafting to use and started my micro business (I think it might be smaller than micro to be honest).

I’ve had some ups and downs after moving house last year and after lots of fibromyalgia flare ups, decided to close my Etsy shop and focus on my health.

I’m still having good days, bad days and everything in between, but I’m going to be releasing some new products very soon!!! I won’t be using Etsy instead a elling through Instagram and Facebook.
