It was a family affair for this one.

I was so proud to be asked to create a special 60th birthday present.
I was asked by my aunt Mary Eld to create a painting, from a photo taken by my niece Thea, of Thea’s son with Ozzie the dog, on the beach in Seaview, Isle of Wight.

I am excited to announce I am adding to my artwork.

A limited print option on my ocean series.

Each one will be released in turn and once sold there will be no further runs made, hence limited.

Prints will be available in 2 sizes, each size will have total of 25 prints. So by my maths (anyone who knows me will have a good giggle as I hate maths and numbers in general) there will be 50 prints in total.

Exact sizes will be confirmed once my prints are finalised (I am being very picky with the whole process and I am deciding on borders and mounts) but they will be near A3 (29.7 cm x 42 cm or 11.7 in x 16.5 in ) and A2 options (42 x 59.4 cm or 16.5in x 23.4in). Each painting in the series will be slightly different in size due to the different canvases I paint the originals on.

Each one will be signed with a certificate of authenticity.

The first painting to be released in print will be Octavia, so get your name on this exclusive list to become a proud owner of her.

Intelligence is Beautiful

For me, one of the most unusual and fascinating creatures on this planet is the octopus. I get so excited when I see them during my time spent under water. I only wish I saw them on every dive.

Their ability to change colour and texture to show their moods and to match environments so they can hide away (who wouldn’t want that skill) is for me both beautiful and intelligent.
With an amazing and ability to solve many complex problems, more people need to be influenced by them.

To all my squirrel lovers and more…

Squirrel took time out and went in to a hibernating mindset. Those of you who know me well know I favour warmer climates and that winter is the time for me to go quiet and not as productive.

I think down time for an artistic mind set is no bad thing if you can own it and not lose heart or faith in yourself (in todays living crisis and so forth, this is certainly a challenge for anyone let alone Self-Employed artists).

Recently my inner squirrel was looking for a new challenge and we secured a commission that needed us to trust the process, believe in my own abilities and fully immerse into a world that is not familiar to me.

At times I wish I was on an island minding my own business. Soaking up the sun and warm, listening to the sounds of the ocean and wildlife. Well when I say at times….

I am driven when I want something and I guess ambitious, maybe, but this is not my go to emotion or state of mind.

Things have been a little bumpy recently and I have had to regroup and check out my direction and how I feel about things.

This has brought me to a decision of working on a large piece of art to go into my ocean series, work on a commission for a special client and then do my first tribute piece to someone famous who I respect one a huge scale.

My ocean series is a series of work close to my heart that encompasses my passion for art as well as my desire to be in the ocean and celebrate the amazing wildlife in it.

My commission are an opportunity to allow someone else dream to come to life through my imagination and skills. This is to me both a powerful place and nerve racking place to be. It is also one of the most beautiful places to operate from when I deliver a piece that is as good as it better then my clients hoped for.

As for my tribute to a famous person…. I am not sure what will happen to the piece, other then it will be put somewhere on display. It may even make it to my exhibition in August.

Finally finished a project that’s been on the w.i.p. Shelf for a good couple of years.

It’s a great feeling to get to completion as I have lots of things that get started then I have to go away for work. When I get back my head is not in the right place to continue straight away.
