We would like to thank all those people who have donated their time and efforts over the last two weekends to help create a fabulous community art indtsllation at the Havenstreet Community Centre. 🙏

As this weekend (20th June) will be the final workshop we felt we should confirm the details of the activities that will be available. 🕠

We will be decorating all of the tiles that have been made so far - no new tiles can be made. Anyone wishing to decorate their own tile should arrive promptly for 10 AM, and any unclaimed tiles will be decorated by the community rather than the specific maker. There are a LOT to paint! 🎨

The project has been hugely popular; all of the panels for the Tree of Life had been cut by mid day last Saturday. Paul then found an additional activity for those who missed out - pieces were cut to make birds which will be installed around the garden. Anyone wishing to assemble and solder their bird, please arrive promptly for 10 AM - any unclaimed will be completed by the community. 🐦

Paul will then move on to leading the structure of the panel. Due to the high levels of lead involved, we welcome you to observe and learn but we are unable to invite you to directly participate. 👀

The tiles will then go through their final firing and the stained glass panel will then be weather-proofed. Final installation will then take place and an announcement will follow to invite participants and the wider community to come and enjoy. 🎉

Just really and urgently need to say, I love clay, but I love people too!!! ❤️
I spend a slightly embarrassing amount of time in my studio, fiddling about with clay. I admit to being a clayoholic, with no interest in rehab... 🙂‍↔️
This week I've been struggling slightly as I've not had so much studio time - I've been out, facilitating a LOT of workshops, socialising, interacting. Listening, learning, skill sharing. It's been a joy. I get to play with clay constantly. I actually think I might be made from clay 🤣. So, it's a privilege to share some of that joy... And in turn, it has fed my creative soul too.
I've chatted with my very bestest and oldest friend Karen Wall , I've squeezed a lunch in with the lovely Kathy from ChilliWinter, I've played at clay with Kim Styles Jewellery, Bron Elis- Williams, reconnected with Claire Webb, enjoyed making with Naomi Baisley and and a zillion others. I've watched a fair few hundred clay seeds being made at Independent Arts whilst listening to the creative dreams of participants. And it's all been an absolute joy. 😊
Thank you everyone, and especially the right-handed lad with the broken right arm who despite this still turned up to make - hard core!!! It has meant the world 🌎 x

We are back again tomorrow Saturday) at Havenstreet Community Centre for the second burst of FREE stained glass and ceramics workshops, made possible with a grant from Creative Island. We are open from 10 - 4, so if you would like to spend time enjoying some creativity and learning new skills, please do pop along. The sessions are drop in, but please donkey us know if you intend to come to give us an idea of numbers. 🌺
We are making a stained glass Tree of Life which will be erected in the community centre gardens and nature themes ceramic tiles which will decorate the garden walls. 🌴

Paul has been busy prepping for our FREE stained glass workshops. We thought you might be interested to see his studio and the planning process. 🤔
During these workshops Paul be will be teaching you how to cut, foil and solder the leaves that will make up the Tree of Life panel, which will be installed in the beautiful garden at Havenstreet Community Centre for all to enjoy.🌲
Alongside this, I will be hosting clay workshops. We will be making nature -themed pieces which will be displayed around the garden. 🏡 🪏
These workshops are FREE!!!!!They are dropping in, stay for 5 mins or 6 hours, and run from 10.00 - 16.00 on Saturdays 6th, 13th and 20th June at Havenstreet Community Centre. We will be hosting them in the garden on kind days, indoors if It is wet. It would be useful to have an idea of numbers so pls drop a note in the comments if you plan to attend. No previous experience required, all ages welcome (but glass isn't for the very young!) and lunch will be provided.

FREE STAINED GLASS AND CERAMICS WORKSHOPS!!! 😮
Thanks to a Can You Hear US microgrant from Creative Island we are able to deliver a series of FREE Workshops for the residents of Havenstreet and the surrounding areas. 🙌
Paul will be working with you to make a beautiful stained glass Tree of Life, which will be permanently displayed in the beautiful garden of Havenstreeet Community Centre. You will learn how to cut, foil and solder the glass.🌳
I will be working with you to make ceramic tiles to decorate the areas around the garden. 🍀
No previous experience is required and all ages welcome - these are drop in sessions, so just drop in when suits. We could be grateful if you could pls comment if you intend to participate, just to give us an idea of numbers as Geoff and Veronica will be cooking up a storm by way of a BBQ! 🌭
This is a fabulous opportunity to learn new skills, contribute to a permanent piece of community artwork, meet new people and have some fun along the way.♥
Dates are: Saturdays 6th, 13th and 20th June, 10 - 4 x

Here is the reason why I work so hard (ok I'm having an early morning cuppa in my hammock whilst watching the squirrels but I'll be in my studio soon); ☕
Two years ago, in spite of his challenges, but encouraged and supported by our friend, neighbour and head of 6th form Matt Windsor, Freddie put himself through the rigorous application process for an English scholarship at Ryde School with Upper Chine, Isle of Wight - he was successful. He went on to secure the position of English Captain, and at the end of year 12, was awarded the history price. At last night's leaver's prize-giving ceremony he was awarded the politics prize. 👏
I'm hugely grateful to everything that the school have given to Freddie - top notch education, staff who go the extra mile, a sense of belonging, much needed confidence, and a wonderful group of friends. 👌
It's been a challenge, financially - and I'm grateful to the school's bursary without which this simply wouldn't have been possible, and of course to all of you for every pottery purchase that has added to the pot.
But, Freddie has indeed fulfilled his part of the bargain - he has demonstrated unwavering focus, and I'm immensely proud of him. 💕

Another successful kiln opening this morning; feels good to have a substantial body of work with more events on the horizon... But if I'm looking a little frazzled, please be kind (and don't tell me!) - I'm working my dear Mum's hand-knitted socks off!

I'm going to be a Bloody Busy Bee this weekend! 🐝

Find me at Yarmouth Town Hall along with Lynn from LBP Bespoke Bags , Tracey from white apocathary, dar kitty crotchet and Robert Scott. The actual me will me on shift on the Sunday so please come and say hi. It's Sea Shanty weekend in Yarmouth so bundles of fun! ⛵

I will also be at the always -raucas Bembridge Street Fair 2026 on Monday, and will be taking the Wonda Wheel for all you who fancy your luck at throwing a pot ! 🍵

EGGS FOR SALE!!! 🥚

We have a bit of a glut (translates as...have a bit of a problem - can't stop buying gorgeous chickens and ducks!) 🐔

We don't have zillions (much as I would like) but I will put any we have in the porch. Maybe 1 or 2 boxes per day. They will be labelled - £2 for a box of beautiful mixed coloured chicken eggs and £1.50 for smaller white Bantams eggs. We may occasionally have duck eggs but they're too busy looking pretty and not laying much at the mo. There is a little pot for pennies which will all go to Kit as he is the chicken whisperer. 😮‍💨

Woof woof!!! 🐶
I was recently commissioned to make 4 special dogs some new china!
Certainly prettier in your kitchen than the usual plastic bowls! 😋
I'm now contemplating adding dog and cat bowls to my Ice Cream range and wondering if they would would be popular.... ❓
