Evenin all! What wild weather it is outside here in Essex, I snoozed this afternoon and woke up in darkness, very strange. I haven't been to the hospital today due to feeling a bit under the weather and Nelly has been shipped off to London for a procedure they couldnt manage locally, her daughter and one of my sons have travelled in by train and I've rested, been to the Dr for a blood test and burnt their dinner, two smart things and one very daft one.
I have also updated my website with a few mugs and there are still pumpkins on there, plus I have signs, mushrooms and earrings on the Penelope Bailey Ltd shop. Any purchases will help towards my transport costs at the mo so I can keep visiting, and will also involve a huge invisible hug flying your way as I'm hugely grateful.
Now check your oven quick before you burn anything!

Dear wonderful ladies of instagram, I am absolutely devastated to tell you my darling big sis that painted these gorgeous mugs has been taken ill suddenly and seriously.

I hate posts like these, but I'm horrified at learning that ovarian cancer is still a hidden menace to women that goes so easily undiagnosed. I know many of you suffer chronic illnesses and menopause and that's why you work from home, but did you know that chronic fatigue, ibs and menopause all disguise the symptoms of ovarian cancer? and they are so common in middle age that drs don't look any further? If you do one thing today please look up the symptoms and ask for a blood test if you identify with them. A pap smear does NOT test for this. Even my drs receptionist didn't know that.

I have to leave my shops open (which makes me feel evil) as its my only source of funds and we need to travel everyday to the hospital. I will take her items out of the shop as they are not going anywhere. Please if you think someone you know needs to get checked have that talk today. Sometimes adhd and being a carer for others makes you neglect your own health, and this cancer is invisible early on.

Morning! Brrr it's chilly, love this weather, the last pumpkins are reduced on my website and there are still mushrooms in the orange pumpkin colours available through Penelope Bailey Ltd and also my signs are there too.

The last kiln has given up so no new pottery planned, the last tray of pumpkins will have to be abandoned, but there's about 30 finished items that I'll be listing soon...

I have been linoprinting and sewing so I will have lots of fun stuff ready for you soon, with similar designs to my pottery, just a bit, er, flatter which I'm sure the postie will appreciate x

Hope you're keeping warm? I have a bowl of whipped cream with flakes crumbled in it sitting in my fridge to go onto of my coffees and hot chocolate. I'm off out of the house (getting so rare) so wish me luck out among real people. I think I'm gonna need 2 pairs of socks in ma boots today!

F**k up of the day. Can you spot the mistake?
And no, it's not that it's off center, because you know i love everything a bit wonky anyway. It's an iris if that helps.
Sigh. the whole load of this kiln was a misfire including a replacement mug. That's 8 hours of yesterday wasted. This is the last working kiln other than the tiny winy one. Better get on with my sewing and plan some tiny jewellery!
Been a weird week, insomnia is kicking my butt, the last time I had it this bad I lost 2 stone in weight, sounds nice but that was 6 months of going slightly madder every day. You guys would tell me if you noticed that, right? Anyway better take this unicorn for a walk before and put my Elvis costume on to face the day!
You, ladies, are completely spiffing!

Side project underway- one of many thats been buzzing in my head, had to make sure it involved a little pottery so people knew it was moi that was the evil genius behind the scheme..

How are doing? I have to say this is my favourite kinda weather, woolly jumpers, furry coats, hot chocolate with a touch of rum in it. Summer is too sweaty and too much flesh on show for me, give me thick tights and dm's any day, am I right? Though I do need to do a little work in my studio today but I am quite cosy in my chair and I can hear my son Louis singing upstairs so maybe I'll wait till my hair is dry from my shower before toddling out to the draughty old shed. I also have to find some old remnants of velvet and try dye them orange as I made ceramic pumpkin stalks and want to try them out. So after last month's grey dye on my finger tips I think I might end up being an orange tip butterfly today!
A lot of my projects involve upcycling clothes and rescuing beloved fabric scraps ive kept from the early 2000's which i have now discovered is way messier than pottery (though faster and cheaper to deal with) so my dream of a tidy house (with 4 sons?) is quite ridiculous. Are you a tidy person? My mum was super neat and I always feel like in going to be in trouble for my chaos somehow, but then I remember I'm a grown up and I can just tell people to do one. When I think of it I only know one person who had a perfect home (every room was like page from the next directory) and I gave me the heebies geeebies.
Right that's enough waffle from me, I shall resume my hunt for a zipper foot and get me s**t together,

Hulllloooooo, a few of my favourite items added for a mini collection in my website shop, as the pumpkins were feeling lonely. Some of the handpainted crows items and a few experiments that turned out charming (rather like my children) more to come but admin isn't my strongest talent (spilling ketchup on my cleavage is my go to party trick it seems) and I have somehow got distracted.
I have rustled up a few new pumpkins, and I seem to have gone a bit crazy on the stalks- I can see them across the room poking up from the tray they are sat drying in, and I have to say I'm not looking forward to wrapping them! Some of them do looking a bit, um, rude. But that's neither here nor there (notice i didn't add a photo, did not want to get my post banned for sauciness!)
I shall leave you in peace (or chaos, whichever you prefer) and I'm off xx

Wow, autocorrect made that sentence a challenge! Yes, they're all in my shop for your autumn festivities, sadly struggling to take good photies atm mo,I think someone turned a switch off in my head and just can't get what I want to jump into my phone no more. Sigh.

Obviously these appear nice and juicy and lush but please do not bite the donut, sorry, pumpkins!

I got 11 online in the end! Priced between £16-£18 plus postage this year they seem extra wrinkly, gnarly and pretty fugly. I'm not sure why I find that beautiful, maybe because I'm turning into a gnarly old Crone myself? Probably another 10 to come online tomorrow if the blinking laptop charges properly (I know, I know a bad workperson blames their tools and all that, but they really are out to get me!) Hopefully this afternoon.....if I sit holding the charger at the correct angle all day.....there will be the first 17 online. Sigh, but first, methinks, more caffeine.
