Cottage Two has been created out of a passion for taking disregarded materials and turning them into functional pieces of furniture. All of my items are handmade with an emphasis on quality and detail. I thrive on the challenge of hearing your ideas and turning them into a reality. We're still in business although quiet on social media!

One of the more recent pieces to leave the workshop was this bespoke, U-shaped solid oak desk. We worked closely with our customer to make them their dream desk, which all started from their own sketch.

We ensured the grain was continuous across the entire top and that we fabricated a frame that was easy to assemble in-situ. From machining the rough sawn oak, to fabricating & coating the steel frame, everything was done in-house.

It's a whopping 2.6m wide and provides ample mounting space for their series of monitors.

We had a customer return to have some simple shelving modules made to match a desk that we made for them some years back. Our customer drew up their own design and we made to their plans.

We then finished the units to fit nicely into the room alongside their desk.

We always welcome custom requests on our standard furniture, no matter how big or small. Our customer that received this desk last year requested the steel frame to be flush with the desktop at each end. We like how it looks!

Along with this request, they also provided their specific dimensions, cable management requirements and finishes.

This week's feature takes us back to one of our favourite builds yet, and one that we were quite reluctant to see leave the workshop.

Crafted from solid oak and paired with heavy industrial steel beam, this set included a large custom sized table with two matching benches. Strong, solid and a bold statement piece that adds warmth to the family home.

The latest piece to leave the workshop is this bespoke kitchen island on castors. Our customer originally discovered our desk with integrated cabinet and requested some alterations to the design to make it the island that you see here.

The cabinet is accessible from both sides and the doors use push to open fittings. It also features locking castors and the piece has been finished to match their new kitchen.
