Last week I made Christmas decorations and some small panels using up old photo frames. These with other craft and art will be on sale in Inverbervie on 7th November at a craft fair. Making was fun but now I have to prepare packaging and price everything - not so much fun!

My ebay purchase arrived. It is a hand painted magic lantern slide (1890's) a comic fisherman. I thought it would go well with the frame I made for the cats slide, which cracked. 😊

Last week I framed some hand painted glass and two magic lantern slides. Unfortunately the "Silence" slide cracked, a risk when soldering! I have removed the cracked slide and await a replacement arriving from ebay, not the same design but hopefully as much fun as the colourful cats.😊 The cat couple are named as Mr and Mrs Kruger on the slide.

A few weeks ago on a trip to Orkney I was given a challenge to make use of a damaged wh**ky display stand,(from the Highland Park Valhalla Collection - Viking Longboat). I took the frame apart and cut the base in half to make two free-standing frames. This weekend I finished making the small stained glass panels for the frames. I am quite pleased with the results 😊. They will be wending their way back to Orkney next week.

This is a pattern I love making, lots of scope for different colour combinations and decorations. I painted white feathers on the body but these looked too bright for the rest of the design so I have coloured the white lines. And the dressing table mirror frame makes a great display stand.

My blackbird panel is almost finished. I am going to pick out the beak with gold leaf and see if this enhances the blackbird 🐦‍⬛🐦‍⬛🐦‍⬛

This week I have started a leaded panel, using an old arched mirror frame and some of the vintage glass given to me last week. I decided to make a blackbird for the central panel. The painted pieces are out of the kiln today so I can start the leading. It's only once the leading is complete that I will see the panel with light coming through, hopefully a pleasant surprise 😺

I had a busy day at Norwood Antiques and Vintage Fair, meeting the other traders and the customers who were interested to look at my stained glass. The best part of the day was talking to Clifford who had worked for a stained glass company in Aberdeen all his working life. He rushed off back home to collect 3 boxes of old and new glass which he gave to me. I am now busy cleaning it up and thinking of all the things I can do with it 😊

This is a house in Herston, South Ronaldsay, (we used to live nearby), which I was commissioned to make as a gift for the owners. I was delighted to interpret such a lovely house in glass. 😊
