Great finds at today, a vintage moulding/rebate plane with adjustable fence and depth-stop and a vintage router plane. Both traditionally used by carpenters and woodworkers for 100s of years, sadly due to the rise of power tools, amazing tools like these are being left to gather dust, but on the plus, it means lucky enthusiasts like me can get them at a good price! As always, many thanks to , his YouTube videos inspired me to stop desperately saving for the next big power tool, and to learn how to work with my hands instead. Can’t wait to give these guys a refurb and get them working!

A simple wooden box.

My first attempt at a box made with hand tools, only using basic construction lumber as it’s cheap to practice on and made with simple rebate joints.

Practice makes perfect, I wanted to see what I could make with the most basic tools and just some time and effort.

Really pleased with how this turned out, and just goes to show how the simplest things can be beautiful if care goes into creating them.

Next thing to practice - Box joints!

Hand built Mini workbench complete with Moxon Vice and Walnut bench dogs - this will allow me to work on detailed, fine woodworking projects wherever I may be at the time!

I work full time and make and build things as a hobby - so it’s nice to be able to do it whenever I may be with work!

A fun project and nice to test the engineering side of my brain out!
