This is a slightly more unusual domestic job we finished last week. The client was fed up of her stairs being ruined by her many dogs and needed something extremely tough and essentially 'dog proof'.

So here we have a heavy duty luxury vinyl tile (Brampton Chase Classics Manor Oak) fitted to Stairs and Landing. Fitted with solid antique brass step nosings (by Cat Trims) and a 'Bendy-bull' step nosing at the bottom (by Stairrods UK Ltd ).

This makes for a very smart, clean and importantly tough flooring finish. Not the easiest to fit, but our experts are up to the job.

Here are some photos from one of our latest projects. This is a lovely herringbone design utilising 3 different imitation wood designs in a loose-lay luxury vinyl tile.

This is in the cafe of one of our long standing and loyal clients, In-Excess Garden Centres in Landford.
The product is Tarkett iD Inspiration Looselay and looks particularly striking in this setting.

Crusader Carpets are on the look out for a new team member

Warehouse, Retail and Fitting Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard working person to join our team at our friendly, family run business in Whaddon/Landford.
The job will involve assisting in the day to day running of the warehouse, including cutting down of carpets, loading and unloading vans and keeping stock of materials.

However the job will be very varied and will not be based continually at the warehouse. The right candidate will also be trained up to work in the shop, to learn the carpet and flooring business from the ground up. There will be opportunity for promotion whilst expanding the scope of the role as skills progress. We are looking to recruit someone who is ambitious and hard working, someone we can make a long term mutual investment with for the future.

In addition to working in the warehouse, initially the role will also involve some driving, delivering materials to jobs etc.
The initial salary on offer is between £23,000 to £26,000 per annum (depending on age and experience). However this will be reviewed annually with a view to increasing as the candidate’s skills progress.

The hours will be 8:00 until 5:00 Monday to Friday. You will also be expected to do 1 Saturday in every 5. This will paid at £140 (take home) per Saturday worked, on top of basic salary.
The applicant will need to hold a full UK Driving License.

We have had a big sort out through our warehouse and we have a lot of end-of-rolls to get rid of, at vastly discounted rates.

We charge a flat rate of £22.95 per square metre for most stock items, this includes Supreme underlay, all bars and accessories and VAT. For a typical 3.50 x 4 room that works out at £321!

We will of course measure up for free and tell you what will fit your room. These are not B grade items and you can often get lucky and end up with something very expensive at bargain price!

Permanent Salesperson (full driving licence essential):
We are looking for a permanent salesperson to join our team. Although the role will be primarily sales and shop based. The role will be varied on a day to day basis and include some warehouse work, measuring jobs on site as well as meeting and advising clients. The successful candidate will have excellent people skills and be proficient in working out costings and plans. Experience in the industry would be preferred but is not essential as full training will be provided. Salary will be dependent on experience. At Crusader Carpets we are a family run and long thriving local business with a history of being a reputable employer, many members of the team have been here for a significant amount of years and we feel that we have a lot to offer the successful candidate.

Temporary Van Driver & Warehouse Assistant (full clean driving licence essential):
Due to the volume of business we are currently turning over and a member of our team being off sick, we are looking for a hard working person to help with deliveries in the warehouse and deliveries to site. The role will potentially involve some heavy lifting and cutting down of carpets. The successful candidate will need to be able to drive a van and have some basic practical skills.
