6 decorating mistakes and how to avoid them 🙌🏻

1. Peeling at the edges – You probably haven’t used enough paste. Make sure you use lots of paste and to the edges, you can always wipe excess with a sponge.

2. White lines in between lengths – when using dark wallpaper its best to chalk the edges of the rolls before you cut the lengths in a similar colour to the wallpaper. As an extra insurance you can also paint vertical strips of the wall first where the seams will land.

3. Dirty marks on the wallpaper - leaving excess glue on the surface can result in this so make sure you wipe as you go with a clean damp (not wet) sponge.

4. Uneven edges at the ceiling and skirting - using dull blades will mean you don’t get a nice clean cut at the ceiling and skirting. Use a brand-new blade when you start and change it regularly.

5. Bumps showing through the wallpaper - skipping wall preparation is the likely culprit, make sure to fill and sand, prime and/or use a lining paper.

6. Bubbling and peeling behind a radiator – You need to let the glue dry totally before turning on the radiator and please don’t hang damp washing on the radiator either!
