Cottontail Crafts 'A paradise for crafters' - Cottontail Crafts is a shop and website selling a wide range of inspirational crafting products.

Cottontail Crafts (previously 'The Sewing Centre') is a family owned business that was founded 65 years ago in the Yorkshire Dales market town of Settle. Sue Amphlett, daughter of the founders, is the current owner of the business (along with husband, Steve). Sue is an expert crafter and qualified dressmaker. She used to be a regular demonstrator on Create & Craft TV and Hochanda. A UK ambassador

for Prym ( an internationally leading supplier of sewing and needlecraft products and all kinds of trendy accessories) on whose behalf she gives product demonstrations at shows, exhibitions and stores around the country.

Lot's of new books on the shelves from Search Press including this one....hand knitted/ crochet dishcloths are very fashionable at the moment.

I got the keys to this shop in February 1988. That same day my 18 month old son was rushed into hospital with an unknown illness!

We were in hospital 2 weeks & it was touch & go at times ( still as clear as if it was yesterday). He weighed 21lbs when he came out!

I left the workmen to get on with the alterations. Thankfully Dad was on hand to see all went well & he & my brother James decorated top to bottom.

Can anyone remember what the shop was before I took it on?

I remember going with Mum in the trusted....well not always! Volvo Estate to Bankfield Mills in Colne (they have moved several times since then).

Mark always used to deal with us & he was a youngster when we first went. He retired last year!!

Quality always lasts.
