Founded in 2020, in response to the global pandemic which pressed paused the world, Lit was born from a desire and need to be creative, positive and productive from home when it’s founder found herself out of work. Combining her pastime making healthy scented candles with a passion for living a more sustainable lifestyle, founder Heather Gilberthorpe Pell developed recipes using 100% natural ingredients that are responsibly sourced. Guided by high crafting standards, we make everything in small batches from our workshop in Sheffield. We carefully craft our blends, with each scented candle containing the highest dose of essential oils to achieve the best possible scent. Our candles are made from GMM-free rapeseed wax sourced from the EU, giving them a much lower carbon footprint than many soy based candles and are scented with essential oil blends that release a full and pure scent with no carcinogens or soot.

We're joining the Ch*****ne Edition Wedding & Events Open House The Mowbray and VICTORIA tomorrow, Sunday 20th September, 11am-3pm ✨

We'll be showcasing our Wedding Scent Experience & Keepsake Collection -- which combines a unique hen party experience to create a bespoke wedding scent, with personalised ceramic candles to treasure long after the celebrations.

You'll find us alongside some of the best creatives and makers! Get inspired by independent brands who are dedicated to you and your vision on your wedding day - from gowns, jewellery, skincare, transport to wellness and outfitting and much more!

Doors will be open 11am-3pm - come for a casual wander around these beautiful spaces, no booking required.

Introducing Equinox 🍂✨

Today we can finally share what we’ve been quietly creating with the wonderful Anna Potter of

Developed hand-in-hand, Equinox is a meeting of two creative worlds, born from a mutual love of fragrance and the natural world.

Inspired by that fleeting moment between summer and autumn, when warm days begin to soften into cooler woodland air.

Sweet fennel and black pepper bring gentle warmth and spice, balanced by geranium and clove leaf, with the cool, resinous depth of black spruce and cedarwood beneath.

The result is an atmospheric, layered natural fragrance that feels both fresh and grounded — a scent to capture that moment between seasons; the shift between states.

And, as always, Equinox is held in our handmade ceramic refillable vessels, made to be treasured and refilled time and time again.

Exploring how fragrance can be seen as well as felt — translating notes, moods, and memories into colour. Texture, deep tones, unexpected contrasts… each shade a reflection of a scent’s character.

Fragrance lingers in memory, shifts with emotion, and resists being fully explained. That complexity is what draws us in ✨
