So, I have just finished crafting a sheath for a friends folding pocket knife.

This sheath has been crafted from vegetable tanned leather which was actially wet moulded to fit snugly around the knife, ensuring it is held firmly in the sheath without the need for straps or clips.

The design allows the sheath to be mounted horizontally on the belt, avoiding having the knife dig into the wearers side when sitting.

The leather has been hand sewn, dyed with Fieblings Moccasin Browm leather dye, the edges burnished with Tokonole cream and final finish with Carnuba Wax.

Really pleased with the finished result.

There are many forms of leather used in a wide variety of products. I only use vegetable tanned leather in varying thicknesses to create our crafted leather items.

Veg tanned leather uses only natural ingredients to tan and prepare the leather, with no toxic chemicals that are usedin other types of leather

Your item will begin as a sheet of leather and every piece will be cut, crafted, dyed, sewn and finished by hand.

Many of the items I craft are custom designed from scratch, including sheaths for knives and tools, cash card holders, wallets, purses and even scout ‘woggles’. (The ring that holds a neckerchief in place)
