Hi All. We are very much hoping to be able to open all day on Thursday 4th June. However, I have an exam invigilation shift and our cover hasn't been well.

If they aren’t able to come in, the shop will be closed for the morning. I’ll be back around lunchtime and hope to see you then!

Our friends over at Hogg Norton have brought out a new eightpack which is designed to help you use up those left over spirits lurking at the back of the cupboard. It contains a recipe sheet for some really tasty cocktails. We can't wait to get stuck in to some mixing!

Hi All

Just a heads up that we still have space on this upcoming dressmaking class - the Merchant and Mills Box Box dress / top.

Merchant and Mills garments are usually quite simple shapes, but with some lovely little details. The Box Box has a box pleat detail on the front and fastens with a rouleau loop at the back.

It's marked as an intermediate class, because it does take a little bit more precision than our beginners classes, so probably isn't suitable for an absolute notice.

As with all of our classes, the fee includes an original dressmaking pattern and all of your materials.

Hi All

Hi All

We don't actually have a May sewing day in the diary, as a lot of the volunteers have other commitments. However, that doesn't mean the work stops!

We do have some quilts here which need some work done on them, so if anyone would like to help out, please do get in touch.

We have four which are at the very end of the process, which need a really good press and a final check (just making sure there are no issues and that any loose threads are snipped off).

We have five which need the binding slip stitched and a label sewn on the back.

We have three which need strips sewn either side of the panel and then on the top and bottom. For these ones, you probably need to have attended one of the making days here, so you are aware of the potential issues we tend to experience.

We also have quite a few which need to be quilted - they are single bed sized, so perhaps not for the faint-hearted!
