Here are a few of the completed soldiers

The pair with white faces have wood stained coats and acrylic faces

The pair with one white face are painted with acrylic paint with the wooden faced soldier having been stained with White Ash, these have also had the pyrographed hats rubbed down with gold acrylic (which I call gold dusting)

And the pair with the wooden faces are painted with acrylic paint, the faces being White Ash and the slightly darker completion being Antique Pine

The only thing I have left to do on these is to add hooks so they can be hung on a tree and seal them.

What do you think? Do you have a favourite?

Progress on the soldiers so far.

I wanted to keep the wood grain, so I'd used a red wood stain for the first soldiers but I found it looked a little patchier than I'd like and it also bled into the soldiers head so I've had to blank the head out with white paint.

The newer soldiers I've done with acrylic paint which is much easier to use and I've done a thin layer so that hasn't completely hidden the wood grain. I might try a light wood stain on the heads of these

These are both unfinished, but which design do you like best for these Christmas soldiers?

I'm planning on giving them both red coats but I'm interested to know which coat design grabs people more

I've been quiet for a bit but I have been working on stuff. Here are some gifts I made which I can share now the recipients have received them

The boards are hand pyrographed and sealed with varnish, and the Chewbacca is hand carved, the face and bandolier are pyrographed and the colours are done with wood stain - dark oak and teak, this is to avoid losing the natural wooden look by using paint, with just a slight accent of silver acrylic.

For the batman board, I 3d printed the charm and added it to natural h**p string for decoration.

As Christmas has been and gone I can share this necklace and earrings set I made for my mum

Design is hand pyrographed with a fine burning nib and then the wood was painted and varnished before adding hooks to apply to the earrings and necklace

I wanted to offer these mini baubles in a range of christmassy colours

Seems viridian, whilst it does look like a very christmassy colour is FAR too dark so I think I've spoilt those three but they'll definitely be available in Natural wood, gold, red or one of each!

What colour do you like best?

Still busily crafting away at a few mini bauble sets, next stock drop will be on Sunday 24th November and that's when all the Christmas stock will be available, to ensure I can get it to people before the big day!

Made a couple of sets of these tonight. Just at the drawing and burning stage so not finished but I'm quite pleased with them so far, especially the little christmas mouse!

These are now all logo'd up and ready for the varnishing stages

All coasters are fully usable, not to be submerged or soaked in water and not to be exposed to excessive heat.

The chopping boards are intended to be decorative but I do seal them with food safe varnish so they could be used if someone wanted to but should not be submerged or soaked in water and should not be exposed to excessive heat.
