A small collection of my "Tapestry" glass is on display at The Willow until end of August in the biennial craft and design exhibition.

Each one can take several days to complete and is utterly unique.
Come and find out why in Oswestry this Saturday when myself and a few other guild exhibitors will be there to show & tell about our work.

Lipreading courses can be essential rehabilitation for anyone who has lost some or all of their hearing. Therefore the Government should fund access to them and ensure they are classified as health and wellbeing courses rather than leisure activities, to recognise their importance.

So, I've renamed this piece!
Why?
Because I am regularly sickened by the bigoted opinions of a small minority of people who are given time/space in the media. I wanted to express my opinion.

'Unity', Glass by Jill Bagnall

Jill creates contemporary studio glass; unique, one-off pieces exploiting the bold colours and visual properties of glass. On style: “My style is certainly informed by a geometric, balanced, aesthetic and for almost 10 years, the “tapestry” technique has underpinned my work with much still to explore.” On influence: “What influences me today, may not feel front of mind next week. However, I admire Bauhaus design aesthetics and my favourite artist, by a whisker, is Kandinsky, especially the abstracts. In contrast I also love Gaudi for outrageous exuberance. I have a passion for plants and nature’s colour combinations, where there are no rules.” “Glass allows me to explore almost endless colour combinations from subtle to outrageous and I’m currently in the experimental phase with 3- dimensional fusing and hand manipulation of warm glass. The latter process allows just a brief time to coax the glass into shape before it is too stiff (cool) for further ‘work’. The results are bold and organic and I’m excited to add this hands-on ‘twist’ to my future work.”
