I just had to sneak a berry or two into the groom’s buttonhole. Spot the unripe autumn raspberries.

When the couple asked for white and blush in October with all locally grown flowers I knew I was up for the challenge with a little help from my flower friends.

How fitting that my last wedding of the year was a glorious celebration of autumn colour. Autumn brings a little more of the wild and ragged round the edges to the cutting garden. I loved leaning in to the wild with hedgerow gathered rose hips, golden bracken and seedpods for Chloe & Ashley’s buttonholes. Rich rusty tones came from dahlias and xanths supported by stonecrop, scabious and abelia.

The most special part of elopements, delivering the bridal bouquet gets me every time. You don’t need tonnes of flowers for your day to feel like everything. Just the most special stems, picked and arranged with care. I love to know I’ve grown every single stem in your bridal bouquet and point out all the little details.

For Katie and Dale’s September elopement Barn Wedding Venue in Devon the late summer and early autumn blooms combined in a joyous palette of pinks, rusty tones and soft whites. Featuring dahlias, cosmos and rudbeckia with blackberries gathered from my hedgerows.

Katie said ‘they were breathtaking and genuinely one of my favourite parts of the day. Autumn hedgerows and fresh mint will forever take me back to that special day’
