I do love Halloween, but you probably won’t be surprised to hear that my version involves rather more flowers than cobwebs.

This year, I’ve been drawn to the darker, more romantic side of autumn.

Deep burgundy roses, plum-toned dahlias, trailing amaranthus, berries and beautiful seasonal foliage. There’s something about putting those rich colours beside softer petals that creates just the right amount of drama.

And that’s my favourite way to approach Halloween styling.

It doesn’t have to be obviously spooky to capture the mood. A statement arrangement, a little candlelight and deeper seasonal colours can completely transform a table or corner of your home.

Pretty, romantic and just a tiny bit dramatic.

You didn’t really think I could look at a perfectly good pumpkin and not wonder how many flowers I could fit into it, did you?

Halloween at Blossoms tends to look a little different.

Give me a pumpkin, beautiful seasonal flowers, berries and autumn foliage, and I’ll happily swap spooky for something a little softer.

I love that seasonal styling doesn’t have to mean changing your whole home. One beautiful arrangement on a dining table, kitchen island or console can bring all the warmth and character of the season into the room while still feeling like you.

So yes, even the pumpkins get flowers around here.

There’s a way to embrace Halloween without losing that beautiful, elegant feel.

For me, it’s all about richer seasonal tones, interesting textures and flowers that bring just enough drama without feeling overdone.

Burgundy, plum, muted rust and soft neutrals are some of my favourites at this time of year. 🤍

Every shade of October, gathered into one bouquet. 🍂✨

Autumn Rainbow is a joyful, colour-packed hand-tied bouquet that captures every shade of the season. There are some flower combinations I could arrange again and again, and hydrangeas with white roses are definitely one of them.

I love the fullness of hydrangeas at this time of year. They bring so much texture and softness to an arrangement, while white roses add that timeless, romantic finish that never needs to try too hard.

Add a little seasonal foliage and texture, and you have an autumn arrangement that feels abundant and warm, but still beautifully light and elegant.

Sometimes it really is the simplest pairings that make the biggest impression.
