“The Gaffer” really loves putting his skills to use and breathing new life into cherished fittings.

On a recent site visit, to consult on lighting for a new build country home, Barry was asked whether he thought he could sympathetically modernise these original carriage lamps. They were made by distant relatives of our client and have real sentimental value.

Of course Barry accepted the challenge willingly and the results are outstanding! The lamps have been converted to working lanterns, with the lamp holders carefully positioned within the original candle holders and bespoke wall brackets hand made to complement them.

We can’t wait to show them to our clients. The lanterns will provide a beautiful, warm welcome at the entrance to their new home 🏡

As many of you know, and some of you don’t, my incredible mum was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017. She threw everything in her power at it to kick its butt and when the time came for chemotherapy and she was going to loose her hair, she shaved it off on her own terms - and raised well over £2000 for charity in the process.

When she decided she was going to shave her hair, I decided I was going to grown mine and donate it... So here we are over 6 years later, having grown my hair to the longest it has ever been and I decided on Friday to cut it!

The Little Princess Trust is well known for making wigs for children navigating their way through life with cancer and it costs about £700 to make each wig. I know times are hard and the future is a little uncertain at the moment, but if you can spare any pennies at all, it would be very much appreciated 💜 (don’t forget to giftaid!)

Absolutely overwhelmed by the generosity shown by residents from Hockley Heath and the surrounding areas. Thank you all for the donations dropped off at GBS Lighting so far. Tomorrow afternoon they will start the journey to Network for Animals, who are working in Poland to help rescue animals from Ukraine. We have filled our van and have added a second vehicle to our run tomorrow as there is still more arriving this evening and tomorrow morning.

Again, thank you very much for your help. I know that this will be hugely appreciated
