Late payment reform is moving fast and construction is firmly in the spotlight.

The Commercial Payments Bill has cleared its Second Reading, with proposals that could reshape how our sector gets paid, including a 60-day cap and a potential ban on retentions.

But the detail isn’t settled yet, and the implications could be significant.

The Bill now heads to Committee Stage, where the real detail will be tested.

Find out what this could mean for your business: https://www.thefis.org/2026/06/19/commercial-payments-bill-momentum-builds-as-lords-back-sweeping-payment-reforms/
