An autumn walk in the New Forest is one of my favourite places. I can’t help but get inspired by the surrounding beauty. These ferns caught my eye and pretty shaped leaves 🍂

Fern motifs are timeless cornerstone of surface pattern design with their intricate fronds, geometry and botanical elegance.

In many cultures such as Māori Koru the shape represents new life, growth, strength and peace.

What a positive plant to see and bring calm to home spaces and our daily lives.

Over the summer I have been busy building my new pattern library and portfolio. If you are an art agent, art director or product developer looking for new artwork to license let me show you my maximalist world. Leave a comment, DM or email me to receive the link and code. ↘️

With the cool, regenerative and slightly futuristic mint green with soft blue undertones, it creates a fresh sophisticated sense of calm.

Light, warmth and strawberries 🍓 in my favourite month of the year. There has been lots of rain but today is sunshine and it’s Friday!

Image: strawberry illustration for fabrics, greeting cards and I think it would be great on gift wrap too. Where could you see this summer pattern.

Let’s chat about something that’s been on my mind a lot lately. 🧵✨

We all know AI is the biggest conversation right now. To be completely honest, I am really not a fan of AI when it comes to art or design. Seeing machines use other creators’ hard work to generate images just doesn’t sit right with me.

As someone who creates every single piece of my work by hand, my heart sank a little this week. I saw an ad for an AI course teaching people how to generate a design collection for Spoonflower. The actual tagline? “No creative skills needed.” 💔

It fills me with dread to think about marketplaces like Spoonflower getting flooded with AI-generated work. It feels like a tsunami is coming that could easily drown out original artists and surface pattern designers who pour their souls into their craft. I really hope buyers will always choose the heart and soul of original, human artwork.

That being said, I don’t think AI is all bad. I think it does have a helpful place in our daily admin and workflow tasks! For example, the new “Layer Clean Up” tool in Photoshop has been a lifesaver. I always label my layers so art directors, agents, and product developers can find exactly what they need. Having a tool suggest names and clean up my workspace saves so much time.

But there is a huge difference between using a tool to speed up your workflow and using a tool to replace the artist entirely.

It’s happening right now, and I’d love to hear your thoughts. Do you think platforms like Spoonflower need to step in and protect original artists? Are you worried about your designs getting buried, or are you finding ways to make AI work for you? Let’s talk in the comments! 👇👇👇

From scrapbook mood boards to premium repeating surface patterns. ✨

Every collection in my library begins with deep seasonal trend research and intentional colour curation. To bring authentic stories to life, I hand-draw every single botanical icon multiple times. This preserves that perfectly imperfect, soulful essence that makes a product stand out on retail shelves. Next, I layer on my custom-built pattern texture overlays. This adds signature rich depth and maximalist dimension to both standalone wall art and matching hero and coordinating repeat patterns.

🎨 Now Open for Art Licensing & Bespoke CollectionsArt Directors, Agents, and Brands—let’s tell your brand story together. My commercial pattern library is ready to view, and I am currently booking new design collaborations.
