Maple shavings fly from a familiar creation on the lathe today.

Back to sculpting some little characters, switching it up from the Artworks that I've been making recently.

They're called 'Movement in Static' for a reason.

For a while now I've been searching for a way to showcase how these artworks are transformed when they interact with light.

Enter the humble 'batten light'. Once destined for my workshop ceiling (the electrician supplied their own) it has now found its true calling, assisting in making these artworks shine... quite literally, and pun intended!

I love the way the contours manipulate the light beams and dare I say, these artworks look even better in natural light, though I'm still working on a method to harness the sun's power for top video content.

For now, enjoy the magic of LEDs.

Introducing 'Ripples in Orbit'.

A collection of 7 one-of-a-kind Artworks from OUR_worldofwood.

These designs evolved during their production, taking inspiration from organic shapes, ripples, planets & their moons or anything else that the viewer imagines.

To celebrate the launch of the new collection, they are currently available with 15% OFF for this week only (until Sunday 16th August).

Everything is an illusion.

These latest artworks have drawn many different views from people so far and their patterns are truly open to interpretation.

This led to me playing around by stacking smaller tiles on top of one another (before they've been framed) to create a bit of an optical illusion for a short video.

I've pencilled in a release date of... this weekend!! where there'll be a handful of artworks available on the site in various sizes.

This new collection of Artworks has provided me with a lot more fluidity in terms of design and experimenting with combinations of tile.

I've been trying to find the right balance of styles & their orientations but one of my favourite things about these Artworks, other than how the various textures feel, is that they draw the eye in multiple directions and forces you to explore the whole piece.

There will be a variety of sizes, and each one will be completely unique in their design, one of a kind.

Stay tuned.

A brief BTS of a little stop motion video I've been working on for the release of some new Artworks.

Lots of moving pieces to this one but I'm really enjoying the process - however time consuming creating content is!
