Meet the wonderful Sandie Henderson🐎

Originally from Cumbria, she draws inspiration from the dramatic beauty of its coastline, fells, and mountains, landscapes that shaped her deep connection to the natural world.

Working across sculpture, drawing, and printmaking, Sandie captures the raw power, movement, and spirit of the horse. Her pieces reflect not just form, but an elemental energy, connecting each horse to the wildness of its environment.

With a background as a British Horse Society Riding Instructor, her work is grounded in real experience. Careful study of equine anatomy and behaviour plays a key role in her creative process.

While contemporary in style, Sandie’s work is influenced by ancient traditions, including Greek, Etruscan, and Tang Dynasty art. Inspirations also include George Stubbs, Marino Marini, and Elizabeth Frink.

Her work has been exhibited widely in the UK and internationally, and features in both public and private collections.

Meet Mike Goodwin 🎨
A Liverpool-based artist whose work is full of humour, character and charm.

Now focusing on art full-time, Mike has built a unique collection of illustrations inspired by people, everyday moments and a love of storytelling. His ideas often begin with a quirky title or even a song lyric and from there, his playful characters come to life.

Working across pen and ink, acrylic and digital collage, Mike’s style is always evolving, but one thing stays the same: every piece is created to raise a smile, spark curiosity or simply brighten your day.

There are many pieces inside Gallery More for you to come and see for real

This weeks spotlight with Carole Dawber really gives us a spring feel in our step! 🌻

Carole Dawber is a multi‑disciplinary artist whose creativity has been shaped by a lifetime of colour, texture and fearless experimentation. From her early days studying Fashion & Textiles at Liverpool Art School, a time she describes as magical and limitless, to becoming a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts for her research into natural fabric dyes, Carole has always followed her instinct for invention.

Her work spans paint, stitch, collage, digital manipulation and textiles, all woven together through linked themes that evolve organically over time. Attention to colour sits at the heart of everything she creates, whether she’s mixing acrylic hues or hand‑dyeing reclaimed sari silks for her textile pieces.

Inspired by the Sefton coastline and the landscapes she explores, Carole’s recent collages and ‘colourscape’ works invite viewers to discover their own sense of place within abstracted forms, unexpected colour blocks and richly textured surfaces. Her practice celebrates atmosphere, memory and the joy of creative evolution, a journey she continues to share with warmth, curiosity and an ever‑growing love of making.

This weeks exhibitor is the wonderful mixed media artist, Derek Boak

Derek’s work gently traces the quiet stories held within places; the marks of time, memory, and human presence layered into every surface.

Drawing inspiration from weathered textures, coastal paths, and overlooked details, he gathers fragments of the world around him. Using peeling paint, rusted metal and shifting landscapes, he transforms them into something reflective and deeply personal.

Through a thoughtful, intuitive process, these elements are reworked and reimagined, evolving into paintings that feel both familiar and abstract. Each piece becomes a space where memory, atmosphere, and place meet, inviting the viewer to pause, look closer, and find their own connection within the layers.

A quiet celebration of time, texture, and the beauty of what’s often left unseen.
