The wedding breakfast is about so much more than the food.

It's where friends and family gather, stories are shared, glasses are raised and some of the happiest memories of the day are made.

And the tables deserve a little attention.

I love to explore a tablescape built around beautiful floral textures, considered colour, candlelight and details that work together effortlessly.

Not just a row of arrangements, but a complete look.

The flowers should invite you to sit down, take it all in and enjoy the moment.

When it comes to wedding tables, are you drawn to low, abundant flowers or taller statement arrangements?

Some venues need very little embellishment. They simply need the right finishing touches.

If I were designing wedding flowers for Burghley House, I'd want to complement its beautiful architecture with florals that feel considered, elegant and full of character.

Think sculptural arrangements, natural movement, beautiful tonal colours and statement flowers placed where they'll have the greatest impact.

I'd be looking at the relationship between the flowers and the architecture, rather than treating them as separate elements.

Because the most beautiful floral designs don't compete with their surroundings. They belong in them.

What would you choose for a wedding at Burghley House: timeless whites and greens, or something with a little more colour?

We're heading into one of my favourite times of year for wedding planning...
The moment when couples start seriously thinking about next year's celebrations.
If you're getting married in 2027, now is a lovely time to start thinking about your flowers.
Not because you need to have every detail decided.
You don't.
But because your flowers can influence so much of the overall styling—from your colour palette and tablescape to the atmosphere of the whole venue.
Start with the feeling.
The details can come afterwards.

There is something incredibly special about a wedding in a private garden.
No two settings are the same.
And that gives you the opportunity to create something completely personal.
A floral aisle winding through the garden.
Flowers framing the entrance.
Long tables beneath a marquee.
Statement installations surrounded by the landscape.
The garden becomes part of the design.
And the flowers become part of the garden.
For me, that's when wedding styling becomes really exciting.

Your florist doesn't just arrive with flowers.
There's a lot that happens before installation day.
We talk about your ideas.
We look at your venue.
We consider your colour palette.
We think about your budget.
We source the flowers.
We plan the mechanics.
We work out logistics.
We create the design.
Then we arrive...
And turn the plans into reality.
That's why choosing a florist is about more than liking their Instagram feed.
You need someone whose creative approach and way of working you trust.

A little floral secret...
Your flowers don't all need to match.
In fact, I often think they are more beautiful when they don't.
Different varieties.
Different shapes.
Different stages of opening.
Different textures.
The trick is bringing them together through colour, movement and proportion.
That's what creates that natural, editorial look.
Rather than everything being identical, everything feels connected.
And that's a very different thing.

Imagine your wedding at Burghley House...
A venue with incredible architecture, historic interiors and so much natural grandeur that the flowers need to complement the setting rather than compete with it.

I'd be looking at...
✨ Elegant arrangements that work with the scale of the Great Hall
🌿 Natural movement and texture to soften the grandeur
🕯️ Candlelight and florals working together across the tables
🌸 Statement flowers in carefully chosen areas rather than flowers everywhere
For me, luxury floral design isn't about filling every available space.
It's about knowing exactly where to make an impact.
If I were designing the flowers for a Burghley wedding, I'd want them to feel as though they belonged there.

Why flowers?
Because they never stand still.
Even in a photograph, you can almost imagine the movement.
A petal opening.
Foliage moving gently.
A stem bending naturally.
Light catching a flower from a different angle.
Perhaps that's why I have always been drawn to organic, natural floral design.
I don't want flowers to look manufactured.
I want them to look as though they've just found their perfect place.

Go big.

Sometimes a few beautiful arrangements simply aren't enough.
When the venue calls for scale, I love creating floral installations that become part of the architecture.

Statement entrances.
Floral arches.
Meadow-style ceremony installations.
Hanging flowers.
Dramatic tablescapes.
Designing at scale is about more than adding more flowers.
It's about proportion, structure and making sure the installation belongs in the space.
That's where the real magic happens.

Molecey Mill...
A beautiful setting with a very different personality.
And that's why I never believe in a "one style fits all" approach to wedding flowers.
The flowers for a country house wedding shouldn't necessarily look the same as the flowers for a relaxed countryside celebration.
For a venue like Molecey Mill, I'd be thinking about:
🌿 Natural movement
🌸 Seasonal flowers
🤍 Soft, romantic colour
🌱 Abundant foliage
✨ Floral details that feel effortless rather than overly formal
The beauty is in creating something that feels completely at home in its surroundings.
If you're getting married at Molecey Mill, what would your dream flowers look like?
