After a longer than planned hiatus, I think I'm ready for a bit more creating! Sometimes we just get stuck in a rut and need to take a step back to rethink our plans and priorities. I've been busy working on new ideas and doing some craft fairs which I've loved. It's great chatting with people and getting feedback that way! Couldn't have been a more perfect day for picking out a Christmas tree. It's our first Christmas here in our new home and we found this gem near by. It's the first time I've actually been able to walk through a Christmas tree wood and pick my own to be cut... Cue fluffy snowflakes and you have yourself a winter wonderland!

How was everyone's weekend? At the end of last week, me and the boys travelled back down to Oxfordshire for the most beautiful wedding! It was so much fun however I was exhausted when we fell back through the front door. This weekend consisted of fluffy socks, tea and Christmas crafting... it was bliss! As we edge closer to next week and life starts up again, I'll be interested to see what everyone gets up to! What are you all most looking forward to?

For me and the kiddo, we are looking forward to using our wildlife park pass! My boy would happily spend a few hours in the penguin pool playing and splashing about. We also are in desperate need of new shoes, we are currently living in wellies as they are the only thing that he will wear on his feet!

I've had quite a lot of interest in my 12-month banners this week, there must be some 1st birthday parties in the diary... It's just so lovely and exciting! This is my pastel banner and matching cake topper. So happy to know it will be hosting some beautiful milestone moments soon!

**Job**

Since my workday is usually a short one, my jobs and tasks get spaced out over the week. Today I had 3 things I wanted to get done:

1.Cut new thank you cards and confetti ready for packing.

2. Get in top of some admin that's been hanging around.

3. Finish off some new greetings cards that are in the works.

I got none of this done today. The little one woke up with such a sniffle. We took a little walk to see the daffs and get some fresh air in our lungs this morning, which was so refreshing! Its so lovely to see the signs of spring popping up everywhere!

I'll be moving these tasks to a little later on this week. I'm on top of what I need to be in top off and we can deal with these later. If someone fancies leaving an extra strong coffee at the door, it would be much appreciated! 😂

**Hands on. (and a smidge of silver lining)**

Everything in this little business is done by yours truly! My husband did my make a super spreadsheet for me (eternally grateful and much better than anything I can dream to produce) but apart from that, I do all the drawing, scanning, editing, cutting, assembling, marketing, wrapping and posting! I really enjoy being part of every hands-on stage and this is one of the main reasons I decided to follow my creative path.

Being so hands-on can be challenging at times, especially since I create around my young kiddo. I missed Friday's prompt as the mini just needed a bit of extra TLC and that's ok. It's one of the silver linings of working for myself! I took that time and we are both better for it!

**Colour**

Colour, and plenty of it, has been one of the features of my little business since it started. It even in my shop title! I just love great colour combos and colours that make you feel happy!

I'm a sticker for keeping plenty of scraps around post cut. Not only is it environmentally friendly but it also provides plenty of material for playing around. Sometimes is just good to go in with no preconceived ideas or plans and let the scissors do the talking. I've fallen in love with this little lion with his bright yellow fur.

**Process**

One of the things I realised early on was that I needed to utilise my time well. Working around a small child meant I needed to get the most out of these short windows of time I had available.

After some thought, I made some changes and gave myself adequate processing times so that I could paper cut 2 times a week, 3 if it's around a major holiday such as Christmas. I can then construct orders at the same time and do a big run to the post office with everything. Getting into this rhythm has made some days a little more stress-free! Seems so simple but has been highly effective!
