🌸 A little journey, a lot of hard work, and a dream that’s becoming reality…
Today, as I look at my beautiful new sign finally up outside Fleur de Lis Flowers, I can’t help but feel a little emotional.
What started as a dream has slowly become something I’m incredibly proud of. From taking those first steps, to moving into my little shop in Cobblestone Walk, it’s been a journey of determination, hard work, early mornings and a whole lot of love.
What people don’t always see are the 5:30am starts, conditioning flowers, preparing bouquets, the long days, the worries, the sacrifices and everything that goes on behind the scenes to build a small business from nothing.
And I’ve learnt something along the way. Not everyone will cheer you on. Not everyone will welcome change, and not everyone will want to see you succeed.
But I’ve also learnt that you don’t need everyone’s approval to follow your dreams. You just need to believe in what you’re doing and keep going.
Which brings me to something I feel quite strongly about…
There is room for all of us. 🌷
Today, I’d like to wish Petal and Bean the very best of luck as they open their doors on the High Street.
We’re both part of the wonderful world of flowers, and I genuinely believe that small independent businesses should be encouraging one another, not competing to see who deserves a place.
We all have our own ideas, our own style, our own customers and our own dreams. Someone else’s success doesn’t diminish ours.
Wouldn’t it be lovely if we spent more time lifting each other up rather than putting obstacles in each other’s way?
So today I’m celebrating my own little milestone, my beautiful new sign, my shop and how far I’ve come. But I’m also celebrating someone else having the courage to follow their dream.
Because behind every small business is a person who has taken a chance, worked incredibly hard and dared to believe they could make something of their own.
Here’s to strong women, independent businesses, fresh beginnings and a High Street where we all have the opportunity to flourish. 🌸
