On the wall in our studio is my husbands portrait of David Hockney. Chips has been of fan of Hockneys work for as long as I've known him. RIP David and thank you for all the colour you brought to us.

My previous post showed a bathroom in Italy that I adored. This post shows my own bathroom and I’m extremely fond of this one too.
Both rooms have decorated ceilings and decorative painting on the walls, both have fairly hidden lavvies.
The bathroom was designed by my husband and the wood panelling was built by our friend Geoff, an excellent joiner. Our walls are stencilled with designs from our British Style collection.

The bath tub is much larger than usual ones…..but nowhere near the size of the one in my previous post.

This heavenly slice of beauty is a bathroom in the secret apartment of the Palazzo Doria Pamphilj in Rome. I show and tell more about it on my page.
I was in Rome last week to participate at the Decorative Painting Salon. Once I have edited photos I will tell you more about Salon and show you what I created for my exhibition panel along with stunning work from some of the best decorative painters in the world. On my Itinerant Stenciller page I’ll show you some of the beautiful places that I visited whilst there. Meanwhile, enjoy the frescoes in this bathroom.

Two star stencils going into the post this afternoon one is a custom sized star and the other is in our usual collection. The code is HO11. There are lots of different star stencils in our catalogue they are a perfect motif to decorate walls and ceilings. The smaller stencils are great to decorate furniture with.

A few snaps from the preview evening of Colour Matters curated by My husband had paintings exhibited. It was so crowded that I only managed a few photos. I love this time of year when the viburnum, ceanothus, clematis and wisteria are putting on a show in The Stencil Library’s garden. The peonies and roses are following behind them.

The stencilled rug is finished, the sofa covers are washed and the stencilled cushion covers too. Our summer season of tours and classes can commence!

Me “Ivory coloured cashmere is possibly not the best outfit to wear for an impromptu session stencilling a floor”.
Husband. “ I’ll do a bit while you go and change clothing”
Then, I get totally sidetracked and don’t return. However, I can hear a lot of swearing from the bit of the house.

A few photos of one of our stencilled bedrooms before I turned it into a studio. The carpet was stencilled with acrylic paint and so were the bolsters and furniture. All the gold pattern was stencilled with a glue that we make called Instant Size then transfer gold leaf was applied over it. It’s on the fabrics as well as the walls. Most of the stencils came from our Empire and French Style collections

Memories from early shoots at our home. We had recently moved to Stocksfield Hall and while we’re thinking of how to decorate all our new rooms we used them for magazine and television shoots. I think my favourites were shoots for Period Living & Traditional Home magazine because I had such fun with the editor who at the time was Clare Weatherall. She had great ideas and taught me so much. On many occasions the photographer was .sadur and I have happy memories of working with them both. If you see this Clare, thank you. You once described Chips and I as the modern day Carl and Karin Larsson and gave me a book about their home in Sweden…I was able to visit it a few years ago! The stencils were designed by us for PL&TH but we still have very similar ones in our catalogue.
