This Edwardian style wooden fireplace surround is distinguished by its broad projecting mantel shelf and a rounded frieze below the mantel that contrasts with the straight-edged shelf and angular opening. Layered mouldings beneath the shelf sit above a narrow band of detailing, while the relatively slender uprights finish on plain block feet and moulded inner edges which step inwards below the upper corners.

The warm brown, waxed finish reveals the wood grain across the frieze, uprights and feet. Supplied complete with the surround (wooden and waxed).

This original Victorian all-in-one combination fireplace is notable for its projecting mantel shelf and tall, symmetrical frontage, with a band of repeating oval ornament beneath the mantel and fluted upper panels framing a central panel of leaves and floral detailing. The dark grey finish has lighter highlights across the raised decoration, and the narrow fire opening has shaped upper corners with a border of small circular and leaf motifs and horizontal front bars below.

Complete with fret, grate, cast iron fireback and damper, the fireplace has long side panels carrying hanging decorative motifs, framed by straight mouldings and finished with substantial square feet. A lug has been replaced at the top right and there is a repair to the front of the mantel slightly to the right. It would suit either a bedroom or lounge.
