💕You look so well! 💕
Words I hear so often and I’m sure others who have finished active cancer treatment hear it too.
Well here’s the thing, most days I feel well. Yet some days I really suffer, especially with fatigue. To the point I can’t type, I can’t concentrate long enough for a meeting and I certainly couldn’t drive. That’s why my car is like a walk in wardrobe, always prepared for a sleep over somewhere 😉
Now working for myself, I can manage my workload around the fatigue. Yet what if I worked for an employer, would they understand, after all it’s 2 years since my active treatment ended.
Well here’s another thing, a cancer diagnosis is covered under the equality act for life!
So if I was an employee, I would have the legal right to request reasonable adjustments to help me manage in the workplace - even if I “look well”.
