I am absolutely delighted and proud to share that not only did my painting of Porthcawl’s Mother Sea Sculpture get picked to be displayed at Queen Street Gallery but also is being used to advertise the galleries event

Who would have thought this when I was in college in Neath over 40 years ago

Mother Sea Sculpture is a mermaid figure forming a continuous circle. Designed to represent the cycle of life and the evolutionary theme of life emerging from the sea.
Peter W. Nicholas, a Welsh sculptor known for various public commissions across Wales carved “Mother Sea” using Portland stone. Located on the seaside of The Esplanade, Porthcawl opposite The Seabank Hotel

I wonder if anyone noticed Leonardo da Vinci‘s ghost looking out of the window in my painting of ‘Glynn Vivian at Night’ …did you?

Glynn Vivian Art Gallery ~ 2026. The Swansea Open is an annual art competition open to anyone who lives or works in the City & County of Swansea and is a celebration of art and craft from artists and makers throughout the city.
The selection is made by a different panel of invited selectors each year, thus encouraging diverse viewpoints annually. The exhibition seeks to reflect critical and cultural awareness, with a broad range of work by professional and non-professional artists.
This year’s invited selectors are internationally recognised artist and Course Director of Fine Art, Swansea UWTSD, Sue Williams, and Head of Art for Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales, Ceri Jones.

The works will be on display at the Gallery until Sunday 20 September, with many of the works for sale as part of the exhibition. Glynn Vivian
