Frozen play dough & scissor skills! Who’d have thought it?

Frozen play dough!!!! This is a huge hit in my house every time. Pop play dough INTO the freezer for a quick win and a small change to the regular old play dough.

When you freeze play dough, it doesn’t totally harden because of the salt content. Instead, it gets a firmer consistency that makes a perfecto cutting material for little fingers that are practicing scissor skills.

Kids can practice cutting along lines for resistive scissor control that provides a proprioceptive & temperature sensory feedback to the motor skill of snipping and closing/opening the scissor blades.

Make shapes to practice bilateral coordination and turning an object. This is a win-win-win that kids will love! We started freezing play dough years ago and can’t stop/won’t stop!
